Title: Islander Trade Rumor
Description: Exchange of Picks for McCabe

hockeyleaks.com

A lot of reports suggest the Leafs will move up if they have a shot at Filatov. I could see a 7th overall + McCabe trade to the Islanders for their 5th overall pick.

********************************************************************

Yashin back to the Islanders is laughable, but the fact that it's leaked publically means more teams will now be contacting him, and he could still very well land back in the NHL before July 1st.

THAT MAKES ALOT ON SENSE
MAYBE WE CAN THROW IN A COUPLE OF MILLION
AND REALLY MAKE IT THE DUMBEST MOVE EVER

SO THEY WANT TO MOVE UP
DUMP AN OVERPRICED PEICE OF GARBAGE
SO THEY CAN GET WHAT WE'D LIKE

QUICK JUMP ON IT
JUST MAKE SURE ITS A GRENADE

I swear if they trade this pick.....I'll.....I'll...... :angrier:

Mezz21 - June 18, 2008 08:19 PM (GMT)
That's the dumbest rumor I have heard. How would that benefit the Isles?

sybo - June 18, 2008 08:21 PM (GMT)
Blake Wheeler already signed w/ Boston...so I'd say that site is anything but reliable

Snowman39 - June 18, 2008 08:45 PM (GMT)
I'm all for bringing McCabe back, but if something like that happened I would be furious.

So far I haven't heard any rumor that WOULD benefit the Isles.

I think all the rumor mills are out to get us.

Even if Toronto move up to 5th it will not be enough to draft Filatov. In other words, we won't draft him either. Let's focus on one of the high touted D-men or another forward ranked lower.

Word out of NY today from two sources is that NY Rangers are targeting Wade Redden HEAVILY. "The Rangers are pretty confident that they can land Redden," a source told me.

TSN Rankings:
[QUOTE]Four of the five spots immediately after Stamkos are held by the same blue-chip defencemen we've all been talking about all season long -– Drew Doughty of the Guelph Storm at No. 2; Zach Bogosian of the Peterborough Petes at No. 3; Alex Pietrangelo of the Niagara Ice Dogs at No. 4 and Luke Schenn of the Kelowna Rockets at No. 6. Doughty is an outstanding offensive-minded, puck-moving blueliner with great hockey sense and a feel for the game. Bogosian is a physical, edgy two-way defenceman with dynamic qualities. Pietrangelo is a heady and smooth offensive puck mover. Schenn is a quintessential defensive defenceman with the ability to play a shut-down role.

No surprises there.

TSN's top 10 is rounded out with five other forwards (besides Stamkos), including Russian centre Nikita Filatov at No. 5, Danish forward Mikkel Boedker of the Kitchener Rangers at No. 7, Boston University centre Colin Wilson at No. 8, Cody Hodgson of the Brampton Battalion at No. 9 and Everett Silvertip winger Kyle Beach at No. 10.

We would get a good defenseman and still have a top 10 pick?

IsleNut13 - June 18, 2008 11:01 PM (GMT)
well a good defensemen would be fine but who is going to pu the puck in the net because that seems to be an issue that needs to be addressed...If Ricky is as good as he is supposed to be he will keep you in a game if you can score. But you can't win when your leading scorer has a total of 49 points. Thats pitiful...and now we're talking about drafting D? A natural goal scorer is the only way the isles can walk out with a successful draft.

I don't agree there. McCabe is in the twilight of his career, he is a defensive liability in his own zone, and he has a hefty contract. We have beat this rumor to death. Why should the Isles do the Leafs a favor? The return to the Isles should be much greater in my opinion.

I believe Campoli can be just as good as McCabe.

trade rumors...draft selections...that time of the year...I'm getting nervous...please don't screw up Islanders.
