Title: 15 Years Ago Tonight.......
Description: One of the best road trips of my life...

Sab31 - April 29, 2008 03:32 AM (GMT)
Not only was this one of the most memorable night in the playoffs that year...but I was there (with B.A., Joe & my college buddy Mike) and our seats were several rows behind Beaupre when the incident happened...

Highlights from the night after the game.....

- Hanging out outside the Caps dressing room area while chatting with some family and Isles scouts when Dale Hunter walked out.......you could have heard a pin drop!!!!
- Going down the hall between the Caps and Isles dressing room areas while seeing newly appointed Commish Bettman with some NHL officials watching replays of the cheap shot
- Meeting some of the Isles (Ferraro, Hogue, etc...) after the game.....best part: Joe to Uwe Krupp: "How did you get so big?" Uwe: "You should see my mother!" we laugh and he responds with his german accent present "No, No, I'm SERIOUS!" hehe...
- Meeting and chatting with Trotts, him getting an intern to hustle and get us some hats and ensuring we got back to our hotel.......Mike proclaimed "Bryan Trottier Cares About Us!!" hehe...

An incredible night......who would have known bigger and more surprising things would be in store for the Isles in the weeks to come....

the game that cost us the CUP! But that Pittsburgh series was amazing. I was just 13 years old. Still my favorite Isles team that I can remember. God I loved Steve Thomas!

bonzy18,

The 93' Team was a special team.
From your post I get the feeling you never saw the Cup Islander teams.

Think of the 93' team
The 80, 81,82, 83 Isles were 100 fold better

And I'm not knocking the 93' team because they were our last good hockey team.

Throw in the first year with Osgood, Yashin and Mr. Mike Peca
With P Lavviiooletttyy coaching.
That team was not bad.

They were a shooting star
Up in the sky then gone.

Those fist 11 games going 9-1-1 Islander hockey was back.
