Title: Islanders Fan Outreach
Webb20 - December 19, 2006 03:53 PM (GMT)
Some of the things we've seen have been Kids promos, special packages on tickets, management meeting with fans, Meet and Greets and Lockerroom tours for would be ticket buyers and Season ticket holders, fan appreciation photo contests on their site, and IslandersTV available to all.
Tell the Islanders what you think of their effort.

I feel it's improved to the point of being very, very good, but still not excellent as more needs to be done to bring fans in based on current attendance.

i like the idea of catering to kids and they have all sorts of dynasty for those fans who were around for the glory years..
but there really isn't much for us "bastard children" ;) .. the old teens, college students, mid-late 20's.
i mean i've read all about the dynasty and probably know too much for someone who wasn't there, but i want something that i can relate too. i'm way too old to have inflateables and sparky excite me..
what do i got?
the ice girls?! :o

I voted very good and that's because I'm in Advertising and shmucks like me believe you can never do enough!
The Islanders, I believe are using the Blumenfeld-Fleming Agency out in Montauk still,
the only thing that bothers me are the ad slicks in Newsday, but I want this to be a positive
post so I'll stop.
:bag:

When I attempt to compare this season to the last couple seasons the "fan outreach" is outstanding....
The organization has created an atmosphere...a place to be...a place where you can say hello to MM, Snow, Nolan and all the wonderful staff that puts this all together.
They are all personable, friendly, your personal rep even providing a cell numbers if anything goes wrong or you need more tickets.
All in all it is a 99% improvement from anything that I have seen in the previous seasons.
Before you got a letter wanting the season ticket money, you got a bill, a piece of paper telling you when the meet n greets would be- then a Christmas card and that was it. When you went to the games it was like "do they care?".... now you know they care, they are trying and they should get acknowledged more than on a message board.
So i guess its a great time to say thanks to Wang and the whole team for making it fun, exciting and "the place to be" and allowing us fans to put our heart and soul into the team we love so much. Its fun and it makes me proud.
I can't wait for the new building so Wang can really turn it up!
It’s made me proud to be an Islander

I chose 'very good' with every practice being open to the public, ITV is bringing us unthinkable access to this team. Great Inovation by Charles Wang. I think the Isles have always been a good to the community.

Excellent (have gone beyond other Professional clubs to be in touch with the fans)

This is my first year as a season ticket holder. So I dont know what to expect.
I will say however, that my ticket rep, Jeff Guida, is awesome.
He was so nice to me. Answered all of my questions returned all of my calls and emails promplty. When I finally decided to go through with it and put down my deposit, he sent me a thank you card, an Islanders folder, an Islanders yearbook from 06 07 and an autographed picture of Alexei Yashin (when he was still on the team).
I just thought that was really nice of him!

Of course, we have to whine and complain about what we DON'T have... but for what we do, it's a lot. The team has done a great job.
I just wish they would listen to the fans about the uniform changes and be less secretive overall.
And some sort of pep rally thing, like Ottawa's last night, and all the other clubs' things... would have been nice. I would have loved to have a reason to go out to NVMC this summer.
