Title: Election - What Does This Mean?

clebo99 - November 6, 2009 09:18 AM (GMT)
Did we get screwed (not politically) with the election? Does this mean the Lighthouse is not going to happen?

I think if Suozzi loses, its back to square one with the project. The Republicans will want to do this their way..........which means a much more scaled-down version of the project that Wang likely wouldn't want.

I think its time to look outside the TOH.

Here we go Queens!

With Suozzi and McElroy out, there is a BETTER chance that things will get done.

;)

I think that this means absolutely nothing... It just means that these people are going to have to sit down and work this thing out....

Ok, Question, About a month ago, Wang set his deadline to start "exploring his options" and since that time people from Queens have expressed interest but you never heard anything from Wang about talking to Queens. Has anyone heard anything from Wang meeting with people from Queens or was that deadline thing just a bluff ?

Wang will not play this through the media.
he's letting everyone else do it.

I've heard talk about the old Edgewood site in Suffolk County. I would absolutely LOVE if the Islanders moved closer to me and Edgewood would be about a 30 minute trip as opposed to well over an hour each way to the Coliseum.

The roads would definitely have to be improved to open them up for the additional traffic and I don't really see that as being a big problem with the location being right off the Sagtikos Parkway. Pilgrim is ripe for some overhauling, too. Might even see the area be revitalized by just the team's relocation, forget what the Lighthouse would do for Suffolk County.

Anyway, I just don't see them moving any further West, The New York Queens don't have a chance of winning a Stanley Cup! :P

I am thinking that maybe Steve is right and that the turn to the Republican party may actually be a good thing.
They may decide that NOW if they go through with the project to bolster the County and Town's coffers it will be a PLUS for their administrations and not the Democrats.

Just a thought.

But Whatever happens, we're all just on the sidelines watching.
