I always get a chuckle at the HF board rankings because as soon as a player has played more than a season, they don't consider them part of the "prospects" or part of the organization's "future ranking" and it blatantly ignores what the team already has with the parent club.
Here is what I mean.
For the Raggies, it claims that the only weakness is that there is no goaltending prospect in the system. WGAF? The Raggies are going to have Lundqvist for another decade and their backup in Vallequette is under 23 years of age. They ARE the future goalies for the Rangers. They also happen to be the current ones.
Same thing with our ranking. We apparently don't have a "winger" in the system to play with Tavares. Guess Kyle Okposo is getting ready to retire at age 21?

vallie is under 21? I thought he was older?like 25 or something? I'll look up. and if henrik has anymore collisions with guardrails again, the rags might be considering chauffering from now on.

Lundqvist, Henrik (G) NYR Mar 2, 1982 Are, SWE
I think the rags might have some weakness in goal for the future...with Valle being 32 and hank 27, neither one is exactly kids anymore.. :dontknow:

Ehhhhh, not concerened.
I fully expect Henrik to be out goalie for the next 8-10 seasons.
I am confident they'll find an competent replacement/backup in time.

Over the last 20 years we've done a nice job of developing our young goaltenders so I'm more confident in tehir ability to homegrow a goalie.
I remember us making a bet but forgot exactly what it was. Help me out.

I think it had to do something like, I said gaborik wouldn't last 2 years in his contract, I think...I'm trying to find the thread from last year. but forgot were it was. I think the bet involved tickets...I'm still searching..anyway, I hope you still had a good time at the game lastnight, sorry for that one fan yelling fbombs.
goaltending: last 20 years of developing goaltending? uh, I have to look up this. What goaltending are you talking about in the last twenty years? Henrik? Montoya? Richter? Vanbiesbrouck? Cause maybe richter is one goalie I say has done remarkable, but I'll search on this..

32? wow. I thought he was younger than lundy.
still. They are set with Lundy for the next decade easy. They aren't worried about their net for the future.
IslandersWin86 - October 30, 2009 01:38 AM (GMT)
Valiquette played 6 games for us in 99-01. I thought I remembered that name.

yeah I was surprised that he was older too. He looks good for his age. I guess you're right about them not being worried in goal and all. BUT....how long can valle go, maybe two or three years? Lundy, I don't know. I can see him bottoming out after he hits 30.

Let me know if you find it, or we can just go on what you think it was. In 2010-11 he's still playing for us. Loser buys tix to the first game. KC or the Garden ;) Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
I was referring to Richter, Henrik, and Beezer. That's three goalies we developed, one is a sure Hall of Famer and the second could be and the third was an excellent NHL goalie.

He's a backup, they're a dime a dozen.
Why would you think Henrik would "bottom out", the guys has improved every year since he's been in the league.
