Title: THE JT PREDICTION THREAD

4CUPZ - October 11, 2009 01:14 PM (GMT)
I KNOW SOMEWHERE WE STARTED THIS BEFORE
BUT I'M NOT SEARCHING FOR IT

LAST WEEK I WAS TALKING TO A KNOWLEDGEABLE HOCKEY ICON
AND WE DEBATED ABOUT WHAT WAS A REASONABLE PRODUCTION EXPECTATION OF MR.TAVARES

I'M STILL STICKING TO MY 40+ GOALS 30+ ASSISTS
A HIGHLY TOUTED SNIPER IS JUST THAT A SNIPER EVEN IF HE IS A ROOKIE
- YOU HEAR THAT TAMBELLINI YOU USELESS.........-

WHATS YOUR PREDICTIONS?

Webb20 - October 11, 2009 01:28 PM (GMT)
And I think just the opposite. 30 goals and 40 assists. :P

4CUPZ - October 11, 2009 01:34 PM (GMT)
COMPROMISE
40/40

dragoneye - October 11, 2009 01:43 PM (GMT)
Outside of last night, I hadn't been very impressed. He was getting second assists and had that one goal that floated to him. After watching that shot though, I have to say that if that type of shot is what is expected form him, and they hype makes you believe it is, then I can believe he will go for 40+. Conservative estimate at 20+ if he has injury which is likely the way he is getting crushed out there. JT and Bailey get hit more than anyone.

His play reminds me of Bailey too at this point. He makes some decent plays, but also makes too many low probability plays that backfire. I believe they call them rookie mistakes, although Bailey is not a rook any more.

That shot yesterday was a thing of beauty. A true sniper showed himself there.

Kid will only get better I think. I was saying 20+ goals at the start - maybe 30+ is better.

3POTI - October 11, 2009 03:30 PM (GMT)
50 goals 65 assists.. :punk:

Ziggy16 - October 11, 2009 03:34 PM (GMT)
i could see him having more assits than goals this year..

DannyBinAtlanta - October 11, 2009 04:21 PM (GMT)
I like 30 goals.

By the way, how friggin exciting is it to finally have a player on this team that electrifies?! I can't remember being this pumped about having a goal-scorer of his caliber since Palffy. Definitely the silver-lining to these 3 losses and the ongoing LH drama.

JT! JT! JT!

Dark Helmet - October 11, 2009 04:30 PM (GMT)
What a relief this is. The highly touted sniper comes in and shows his true colors right away by having several 2-point games in a row. Everyone can sigh a breathe of relief if they ever had a doubt.

That looks about right webby

I'm thinking 27 goals - 50 assists.

Mulefan - October 11, 2009 09:13 PM (GMT)
I haven't seen enough yet but off of three games I would agree with Webb in the 30 goals, 40 assists range. He is quite impressive down low with the puck and has a wicked accurate shot! If teams give him that much room coming down the wing he will score lots of goals.

After that shot though, can someone explain why he didn't take a shootout shot instead of Park??? Isn't that the kid's biggest strength??? Scratching my head at that decision.

OlTimeHockey - October 11, 2009 09:16 PM (GMT)
Go-go. Need I say more?

(Edit: I hate predicting but I will this once: 42 goals, 35 assists)

IslandersWin86 - October 12, 2009 01:38 AM (GMT)
He'll have at LEAST 2 goals and 3 assists. :knowitall:

ronski631 - October 12, 2009 01:44 AM (GMT)
56 goals, 54 assists, 110 pts :punk:

LEDZEP - October 12, 2009 02:13 AM (GMT)
:punk: 95 goals, 200 assists, 295 pts :punk:

Hey Zep, I still wish we listened to you and drafted Hedman. :rotflmao:

sybo - October 12, 2009 02:41 AM (GMT)
between 30-40...goals

on pace for a sh!t-ton of points as it stands right now. He & Kyle are enough to peak my interest alone this season.

Man in the Box - October 12, 2009 03:57 AM (GMT)
ill say 32 goals 48 assists plus minus -4

bumpkin - October 12, 2009 09:10 AM (GMT)
Okay, but it is early. Barring injury, I say 35 goals with 45 assists. I think a KO or Streit injury would lower his output, too.

rifleman22 - October 12, 2009 02:09 PM (GMT)
I have no idea how many points he'll put up, but I'll guess anyway. First...

I do know that in only 3 games he has shown 1000% improvement in his game. He is skating, shooting, threw the body around a little and is getting into it.

He has the skills and it is obvious why he is a top talent.

If I had to guess, I'd say 20 g, 30 a would be a nice first year...

this would still satisfy me. i'm thrilled by his early progress, but it's still not fair to expect him to produce at a point per game clip.

i wanted Hedman, too. but at least i can be happy with Tavares

OlTimeHockey - October 12, 2009 04:42 PM (GMT)
Definitely better than the Nilsson or Bailey drafts. (I wanted Hedman, too)

Snowday - October 12, 2009 10:56 PM (GMT)
Some of you guys are going overboard IMO. This team isn't talented enough to have a 70+ point player, let alone it being a rookie.

I'm gonna say 25 goals, 30 Assists 55 points. Same as what I expect from Okposo.

LEDZEP - October 12, 2009 10:57 PM (GMT)
195 goals, 300 assists, 495 pts

rifleman22 - October 15, 2009 03:09 PM (GMT)
I think he scores a supermodel girlfriend no later than October 31. He's probably got a few Ice Girls and Deb (sorry Zep) on speed dial already.

That boy can SCORE.

We should have a party when LedZep hits 20,000th useless post. We can call it the "Tits on a Bull" party. All the alcohol free beer on the house along with lap dances by fully dressed grandmothers. Taking reservations now.
