Title: Nordiques comin' back?
Description: That'd be cool.

The Nords were actually my 2nd favorite team before they moved. That'd be cool if they were the Nordiques again and they brought back their old jerseys too. Not sure if that's gonna be possible though, since they technically moved and became the Avalanche. Who knows.

the Quebec Islanders? :ph43r:

Nooooo. I'd prefer to have BOTH ron! ;)

queens, pilgrim state, quebec being approved, hamiliton looking for a team...let the wooing begin. Now, all wang has to do to show how serious he is, is start actually meeting with these people. Stop with the threats, put some fear into it. Let Kate know ya mean it.

Funny how Bettman didn't say "expansion team". This is a not-so subtle way of telling cities that another possible city is out there to take a team.

If a team were for sale, if they build a top notch arena.....alot of ifs.

About a week ago I read this article about the Winnipeg Jets coming back. Talked about the Thrashers.

Atlanta Thrashers moving to Winnipeg?
By Mark Miller

Remember the Winnipeg Jets? Well, even if you don't, you might get to hear about them again soon because the rumor is that the Atlanta Thrashers could be getting moved to Winnipeg, according to the Winnipeg Free Press.

The team apparently needs to stay in Atlanta for another few years due to signed agreement with the NHL but that doesn't mean such a move couldn't happen. Atlanta is claiming that it isn't for sale but others are saying that about 10 NHL teams are considering a sale right about now.

So even if the Thrashers don't move to Winnipeg, it's becoming clear that another NHL team in America that is losing scads of money might do it. The Phoenix Coyotes, New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Nashville Predators all come to mind.

Makes me wish I had the legal authority to lock Murray, Wang, Rechler in a jail cell with plenty of stationary, and refuse to let them out until they come to some kind of deal. They're both so full of &%^# at this point. And who suffers? Well I suppose we'll continue to suffer as this nonsense drags on.

I'd love to see the Nordiques come back. I loved Fiset's mask and their logo. I'd love to be able to get a Nordiques puck... but is these even remotely a reality? Bettman has been fighting the sale of the Coyotes to someone who wants to move them to Hamilton. Saying that another city might take a team would be entirely hypocritical of Bettman.

It'd be great if they came back so long if they weren't us!

Hey, it could happen. But of course it shant be the Isles moving up there! I'd like to see one of the southern or SW teams go up there.

I love the Nords logo too. Even gots me a Michel Goulet jersey. I wear it to Thrashers games when they're not playing the Islanders, since I refuse to buy a Thrashers anything.

There should never be expansion again in the NHL. They should be retracting teams but they'll never do it. As for bringing the Nords back, I hope to god its not the Isles that move up there. But I do think that would be a good thing, and it would be nice to see that Montreal-Quebec rivalry come back again.

I love how he wants to just erase the last 14+ years and magically have the Nordiques come back? the Nordiques do not exist anymore thanks to Mr. Bettman and his vision of more Hockey in the states. yeah Colorado worked, it helped that they were a winning team, it helped a lot.

stop with the nostalgia you can pretend all you want but the jets, the Nordiques and the Whalers are dead and gone anything else bearing those names are imitations.
but i guess it wont be as bad as when they brought the senators back after 50 years

Any talk of a re-incarnated Quebec Nordiques franchise is bad news for us..Heck any talk of teams moving is bad news to begin with..

Oh man... If the Nords come back, I hope they keep Le Colisee'. It's the only rink in North America with sight-lines as good as NVMC.

Playing in that Pee Wee tourney is one of my greatest personal hockey memories.

Mike Bossy would be quietly happy.
He'd be back home and might be able to do radio again.

;)

Apparently Quebec City is serious about a Nordiques return.
