A team that was horrible about 4 years ago, dwindling fan base, no identity today had a full section dedicated to them in the Washington Post. They started a rebuild and in 4 years they made it. Now I'm not saying Tavares is Ovie, but things can and do turn around.
Just something to inspire to.

Hey, at least they have a paper who cares to write something supportive about their club, and a whole section to boot.
Something, I'm afraid we've seen an end too forever.
The Isles could make the playoffs and Baumbach would still write about how KC is better location for the team, not to mention Staple will question attendance.

And the Caps / Wash Post have Tarik El Bashir, the former Isles' reporter.
Funny to see WaPo covering the Caps so thoroughly; the Wash Times, which is generally a real rag of a paper, has done a much better job historically covering the team.
Don't fret too much, Webby---when the Isles pull it together and become a force in the NHL again, which I sincerely believe will happen in 5 years' time at the present rate of development, the Islanders will get ink and attention, even from the Rangers' paper. The newspaper business is suffering mightily, but every publisher knows that covering winning teams sells papers.
