Title: Isles @ Devils
Description: Last tuneup before Saturday
Webb20 - September 29, 2009 12:56 PM (GMT)
Isles at Devils
7:00 pm
I doubt we'll see too many starters tonight as I'm sure they don't want to risk injury.
Does anyone know if we can see it anywhere?

There's no reason the game SHOULDN'T be on one of the MSG channels...they aren't showing anything else tonight...just re-run crap. And they've already showed a few Devils preseason games...so why not this one? :dontknow:

In yesterdays print edition of the NY Post and in today's it lists the game being on MSG PLUS NETWORK in local teams sports grid schedule.
Can't find any confirmation online so I'm inclined to think it's an error.
If anyone finds anything please post.

I don't think it's being televised but you can listen to the game online at
WFAN.com It's listed in the programming schedule

question is...if it's not being broadcast on any mainstream network or webstream...how could that link work? What "feed" would it be picking up?? I know we got the scoreboard feed for a couple games so far...but remember those games were being broadcast on the web in parts of Canada.

yep, someone mentioned that that site lists every possible game until they find a televised feed or not and then delete it.
So right now, it's up the air if one will surface.

The Rifle will be there. Sec 21, lower level. A friend with season tix was nice enough to give me four on the arm. Taking 3 of my 4 little ones, the oldest is away at college (but coming home for the home opener which we also have tix for).
Wow, two Islander games in less than a week. Maybe this is my , or OUR year... :D

I know.
They have camera's there so coach's can review tape of game...can't use that feed and go online?
Neulion <--- something Wang helped spawn (leading to ITV) that the entire NHL started using to stream their team's games and we can't get this game?

Okay, the Rifle Recap.
First, in the pre-game my son Kyle, who is in a sling after breaking his shoulder in a U16 A game (he buried the guy he hit) was on the glass and Josh Bailey saw him, pointed to him and flipped him a puck. More on Bailey later but that was really cool.
As for the team- we were without Weight, Hunter, KO etc. They had basically their whole lineup, including Brodeur in the pipes.
I know we lost, but we played a spirited game and kept up with them throughout. Rollie let in a weak one on their third goal. Bailey looked great, much better than I remember from last year. Fast, heady and he fits this team. JT still looks very tentative to me. He rung one off the crossbar in the third. He looks very slow and is one of the worst practice (pre-game) players I have ever seen. I think he needs to take a hit or two and put one in to get going. He is only just 19, so I didn't expect much but he will have to deal with the hype every day. His teammates are bumping him in the pre-game and laughing trying to loosen him up. That may have come from above as everyone can see his reluctance to just let it go and skate.
I was not upset with the way we played and I actually think we will be fairly competetive, especially when we get our whole squad on the ice for Saturday.
I hope there is not too much pressure put on JT, he looks kinda fragile in the confidence department (deer in the headlights, a little).
Anyway, that's what I saw and I'm stickin' to it.
