Next: 3,000 hits.

I had to laugh at Michael Kay last night. He stated that if Jeter gets 175 hits for the next 8 (that's right, count em) 8 seasons he will get to 4,000 hits. As great of a player he is, and as great a season he is having, he is going to decline in performance over the next 8 seasons. I am confident he will reach 3,000, no problem, but 4? i think that's a little too far.

Also, I was thinking. In the early 2000's, Jeter recieved a shoulder injury in the first series against Tampa Bay or Toronto, and was sidelined for the rest of the season. If that hadn't have happened, do you believe he would be at 3,000 hits alreay?

BUT THEY ALSO SHOWED A COMPARISION BETWEEN ROSE AND JETER
I DONT REMEBER IF IT WAS THE SAME AGE OR THE SAME AMOUNT OF GAMES PLAYED
BUT EITHER WAY JETER WAS AHEAD OF PETE'S RECORD

AND ROSE IS GIVING 3-1 ODDS
DEREK WONT SURPASS HIS NUMBER :fear:

As big a fan of his as I am, I have to agree with you.
I don't think Jeter has the ego to play if his abilities decline just for the sake of
sticking around to reach an individual milestone.

Only reason I'd see him sticking around is for his kids to see him play and if you've seen his girlfriend, should he marry her, those 2 outta have good looking offspring.

Congrats to him.

Absolutely, and thanks for agreeing with me.

If I heard rite, hes engaged with her and are going to marry once the season is over, whenever that may be. (Hopefully he'll have a World Series ring on in the wedding)!
