b/c this is the only preseason game on tv, im gonna bet its the same feed the nhl network is gonna be using.. and to keep in mind all rags games are being aired and the rags/devs game is being aired on both damn networks , yet wont air our game that starts later that night... the only reason they are airing it is probably b/c they arent producing it and sending their own ppl, jsut taking the feed from the nhl..

I wouldn't be surprised if they added the game in KC just to rub Islander fans raw about the possibility of the team moving after the lease is up if Wang doesn't get his wish. And put a nice feature of how pleasant and modern the facility is as the pregame show.
stevedepot - September 2, 2009 07:07 PM (GMT)
Nah, we won't ever move to KC.
Wang will get some form of Lighthouse project done and then we'll have to listen to him and Dey
go on a promo tour trying to justify the Islanders being the first NHL team to charge their fans
a personal seat license in the new arena and if we act NOW, before it's built, we'll get
a 19% discount and an autographed Bryan Trottier Jersey....
Business club members get that jersey plus a 22% discount and an autographed Mike Bossy hockey Jersey as well.

That is awesome!! Anyone know if they are going to show the other preseason games on Islanders TV? Didn't they show the Rangers-Isles game live a few years ago on there? The one where DP beat up Montoya? So happy hockey is almost back!

As I recall that game was on MSG as well, the only pre-season game on TV in 2007. I also believe MSG won't let ITV broadcast the games even though MSG doesn't want to either.
kasparaitisforever - September 3, 2009 01:14 PM (GMT)
does anyone know if we will be able to watch the preseason games on islesTV like last year?

Moosie - September 3, 2009 08:28 PM (GMT)
MNIslander, it's on the NHL Network schedule, too.
Ziggy16 - September 3, 2009 08:33 PM (GMT)
msg is simply mirroring the nhl network feed.. thus why they are airing this game and no other game b/c they arent paying for it... (the same reason why ALL RAGS games are on MSG, and the rags/devs preseason game is beign aired on BOTH MSG Channels while the isles game that same night later that night to boot is NOT being aired..
Moosie - September 4, 2009 11:49 AM (GMT)
And the NHL Network is only showing the game because 1. It's the very first preseason game in the entire league and 2. It's the only game that night. Kudos to Garth for staging this game to take advantage of NHL Network. We out-of-market people thank you.

i beleive the nhl network feed is a 30 min delay (starts at 1030), as MSG is live (starts at 10)
KO21balterman - September 10, 2009 01:35 AM (GMT)
Hey sorry for the random question, but is preseason hockey similar to preseason football? I honestly cant remember the last time ive watched a preseason game. Since we are pretty much normally starting new players/former AHL players will they all play monday? Tavares? Or is it bridgeport players...if anyone can explain the big differences thatd be ausomeeeeee :isles:
4CUPZ - September 10, 2009 01:39 AM (GMT)
WITH THIS ORGANIZATION
ITS JUST LIKE A REGULAR SEASON GAME
A WHOLE BUNCH OF AHL TALENT
AND NOT MUCH ELSE
Tavarizard - September 10, 2009 01:41 AM (GMT)
This may just be me getting too excited, but I'm thinking somebody should start a gameday thread for this...

Webb20 - September 10, 2009 05:16 PM (GMT)
As per Botta....
Point Blank has learned that Long Island native Rob Carlin has been hired by MSG to be the pre-game host on telecasts of Islanders road games. For the last three years, Carlin has been the weekend sports anchor at ABC-2 in Baltimore. In other Islanders media news, we’re told that Newsday will be the only local media outlet covering training camp in Saskatoon. None of the other New York newspapers or TV stations (including News 12) are covering the first days of John Tavares as an Islander. Needless to say, Point Blank will also not be there. In hockey news, the NYI have no training camp player invitees.
So I guess that's good news as we will have a pre-game for road games.

Well, on the Youtube video its the radio announcers, but I'm pretty sure it was only on ITV.
