Bring him back. It'll be the first time in two years we'll actually have a player stand in front of the net.

Isles5 - July 15, 2009 01:23 PM (GMT)
This is more likely...

Parrish back to Sound Tigers (E5)

4CUPZ - July 15, 2009 01:26 PM (GMT)
PARRISH BACK TO RETIREMENT (E6)

*Afinogenov to NYI (e4)

*Dominic Moore to Thrashers (e2), Isles (e3)

Moore is a solid 3rd/4th liner but unfortunately priced himself out of the market.
great penalty killer and faceoff guy. Younger version of Sillinger but he wears that big helmet and looks like the great kazoo.

as for maxim...the bastid is a cross between jason blake and mariusz czerkawski.
puck hog/enigma. He does get hot and go on scoring stretches tho.

the free agents we wanted (we meaning fans) are pretty much gone.

:dontknow:

A brief thought on eklund: he probably does actually have real sources — agents that want to get info out there. if you're the agent for Tanguay, Parrish, Afinogenov, whomever, wouldn't you want the perception to be out there that your client is drumming up interest all around the league? Or, if a team has some interest in your client but isn't meeting your contract requirements, wouldn't that agent want to put pressure on the organization by giving their fans the impression that the signing is inevitable?

So, yes — he probably is hearing from some people with knowledge of the situation that Parrish, Afinogenov, Tanguay, Bergeron, Moore, etc are all involved in talks with the Islanders. But it's just as, if not more, likely that those sources are intentionally deceiving him.

None of these players, by the way, would be smart signings, except maybe for Afnogenov. If the Isles sign someone it has to be someone who can take pressure off/help Tavares. Anyone else, who isn't a credible top 6 forward anymore or never, is just taking a roster spot that should go to someone with upside.

Moore would be a decent pickup but we don't need anymore centers. I dunno what the hell happened to Afinogenov...he used to be awesome !!! 6 Goals in 50 games last year? ....no streaky Russians pleeez

Sybo,

Roy, Hecht, Stafford, Pommonville amongst others happened...
Sabres have so many talented forwards that they sort of pushed Maxin back to 3rd line duty.
The drop in icetime hurt his lil feelings. No more 1st line powerplay time etc.

MAX'S STATS ARE BAD

2006-07 BUF 56 23 38 61
2007-08 BUF 56 10 18 28
2008-09 BUF 48 6 14 20

I could have sworn he led them in scoring a few years ago.
wow.
he's sunk low.
