That is goals, my friend. He won the Richard Trophy that year, I do believe.

Is it just me or are we getting an entire new team in Eklund's mind.
MAB, Tanguay, now Cheechoo.......whats next......Yashin.............Kvasha...........Smyth?

stonecold...
you should know that hockeybuzz is not a reputable source and it does not equal "all over the web." When Bott, Logan, or even BD have it, my ears perk up. If none of them have it, then it probably is a load of crap.

No ffffing way are we bringing back MAB. Seriously, what is the point of that failed experiment? Unless we bring him in at a minimum price, we already saw he was nothing more than a PP guy who was brutal in his own end.
I don't know if he learned to play D first in Minnesota, but between badmouthing coaches on the bench and letting up countless SH opportunities with Berrard, I don't want anything to do with him.
I'd rather see Gervais, FM4 or Hillen get the PT. They are all more responsible defensively and all MAB has is that shot that takes 8 years to uncork. I was one of the "don't give up on him yet" guys and one of the last holdouts along with Webby, but I don't know of any serious improvement in MAB's blueline game to warrant his return.

The only logical reason I could think of is if Snow is thinking of making him a forward. A person who knows nothing about hockey could figure out he has no defensive presence. And since Snow got rid of him...

Make him a forward????
WTF would anyone do that? He can't win battles in the corners, he's not a good puck handler, he doesn't have a quick shot release and no wrister to speak of. He only has the slapper which he won't have time to get off if he's a forward.
No thanks.
NEXT FA PLEASE.

True, but if we do sign him, which I am totally against, would you rather him play at wing or defense? At least at wing, there isn't a big defensive role. We all saw it, instead of him pushing people away from the front of the net, the forwards were pushing him away. He has no strength or the ability to hit. You absolutely cannot depend on him being a defensman, hes too soft.
Yet I have a solution for this, screw him and go after Jovo.

exactly. If we signed MAB after one failed go around, it is a move to do nothing more than ensure the number 1 chance of winning the lottery again next season.
You don't sign that pos to play forward when we are trying to fill our roster out with young kids.

The reason his goals are declining is because he was forced to play on the 3rd line in SJ, so the players he was with weren't that good, and there was less ice time.

I believe he played with both Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau during the 05-06 season. Hey, even Mitch Fritz would have been a 20-goal scorer in that company.

HAVENT WE BEEN THROUGH ALL THAT CRAP BEFORE
COMPETE FOR THE 8TH SPOT
WHY BOTHER
EITHER COMPETE TO WIN
OR CONTINUE TO REBUILD
WHATS THE FIXATION ABOUT JUST BEING ABLE TO GET TO THE DANCE

Sorry, let me rephrase. I read the last year or two when he had 12 and 23, he was playing on the third line. I'm not sure what line he was playing on when he had 56 and 37. The good thing is here, he will most likely be a first line player. If not, he will absolutely be on the second.

lol. Some Islanders fan on hockey buzz is claiming to be an attorney who is going to sue Eklund for taking money from people (season ticket holders on the site) for giving them false rumors. He says Eklunds name is Dwayne.
Here's the link. Scroll down a little and its in all caps.

okay, fake or not....I replied to this guy....cause I had nothing better to do, and I was curious....here is one part of email he sent me...should I or shouldn't I :letssee:
tomorrow at my office i have to check and see what type of class action this goes under. there are all different types, and depending on the case that determines how many people we need. could be 25, 50, or 100 needed. i just started this movement yesterday and have 14 people already willing to be involved. get back to me soon with your name and where your from cause we have to show how wide this scam has run. Also, I intend to contact his sponsors this week. It will take a while but to cause dwayne (eklund) harm its worth it to me for him to lose his sponsors and get everyone paid back the money all invested. 20 a year is alot for the number of members he has. unlike you, who did it for a year, there are idiots who have done it for years. this is a slam dunk as long as we get a lot of people and show how wide his scam reached.

I'd stay away. Like someone said bfore, what lawyer does posts in all caps. I would first look up the number and see id it is registered to a lawyer. You never know if this is some type scam.

Even if you were stupid enough to give this lawyer your information (and hopefully not your money) there's no one in hell that would give him a case, based on the fact that eklund promotes anything he gives out as rumors, and not valid information. So if it doesn't come true, it's a rumor. He never claims it to be true.

If anyone has checked out what they're saying about us on SJ's forums, it's very predictable.
My quesiton is this, do their fans realize that they have hardly any cap room left to sign
enough guys to ice an NHL roster?
They have to clear salary cap space.
stevedepot - July 16, 2009 06:13 PM (GMT)
Ok, more San Jose rumors from that toilet site.
Sharks and Isles talking trade.
Cheechoo and Douglas Murray.
I would LOVE to have a tough stay at home guy like Murray here, contract and all.
F Witt and Sutton. This guy is big can fight and throw some big open ice hits.
Downside...signed for 4 years at 2.5m per. Not really a downside.
Webb20 - July 16, 2009 06:19 PM (GMT)
But does he fight? In 75 games he racked up a whopping 38 mins of penalties. Sounds like a Lady Byng candidate to me.
But really I dont know anything about him except he's 29.
