As we reflect back on the accomplishments of the Islanders' founding owner, here's a fun article on Mr. Boe from Sports Illustrated in 1972.

But, he traded Julius Erving. No misspent childhood here, but more than a few nights watching him do his magic with the red, white, and blue ball.
Give him the ball at the top of the key, and clear out the right side for the Doctor to operate!

He sold him. If there were a commissioner like Bowie Kuhn around in basketball, it would have never been allowed to happen.
