Title: LIGHTHOUSE PROSPECTS DIM: TOH will let W

I guess the end is near...

Point Blank

Good. Kill it...put Wang up against the wall and make him rethink his past dealings with D'Amato and SMG.

BIg FU to Tom Suozzi who is using this project to get votes for the re-election he recently announced.
What a shock, eh?

I'm sick of it.

Good times are ahead. This will be a great draft year. Don't pay any mind to this ongoing media spin. It will work out whether move to a new location or a new ownership emerges.

We'll welcome the Islanders with open arms in Suffolk.

I'm starting to think that's a more viable option than Queens. I don't see how NYC will approve of a new arena there after already having approved the Atlantic Yards project

Honestly, I've wanted this to fail ever since Wang voiced his "regrets" about buying the team. I'm tired of his dog & pony show...enough is enough.

For all you natives I hope they can either:
-stay under new ownership and a new or revamped building
-move elswhere on the isle

...but I'm at a point where I'd LOVE to see them in Queens or BK, not only because it's more accesible to this Jersey boy...but also I think it'll benefit them in the long run being closer to NYC. You can bank on better attendence for starters !!!

Eff Wang and eff that dump of a town (no offense if ya live there)!!! Let's REALLY rebuild....EVERYTHING !!!!
...just my 2 cents

stevedepot - May 21, 2009 03:09 PM (GMT)
yeah. but would people from Queens, manhattan, Brooklyn and even jersey make the schlep further east?

:dontknow:

I know there'd be a few people for weekend games who'd make the trip via ferry from CT.

Tough to tell for sure.

Steve, build a great hockey team and they'll make the trip. Steinbrenner told us for years no one would visit the Bronx -- he did this during the time he was f#@king up the team with shitty free agents. The only thing that saved the Yankees was the commissioner who suspended him, allowing Gene Michael to build the farm system up -- the same system that gave us Rivera, Posada, Bernie Williams and Jeter. Maybe Bettman can help us out.

whats the point? root for a lame duck team? You give your heart and soul to team, and this is how they repay you..Dark days ahead.

sybo - May 21, 2009 04:47 PM (GMT)
did I miss in the article where (other than the title) it's confirmed they are going to let the deadline pass?

Dark Helmet - May 21, 2009 06:08 PM (GMT)
Just as we were about to build a good team. What a shame.

I'm just annoyed by everyone in the process. Wang's over ambitious plan, it just never seemed like something appropriate or needed. The TOH and their tactics are just shameful. Kate Murray is an embarassment. The bickering and name calling. It was clear to me from the beginning that Wang never wanted the team, the wanted the land. He's been shot down in Syosset and now perhaps here too. Its clear the town doesn't want the development. Lots of talk about cooperation, but no actual cooperation.

To be honest I like the NVMC. I don't look forward to some disneyland like arena that has luxury crap and other things to distract from the actual hockey. Yeah, the economics of the thing call for the new stuff, but I don't like it.

I'm just sick of the whole thing. I live about a mile from the coliseum and I love the convenience of getting there. I would not go to games in Queens or Brooklyn, I probably would go to Suffolk, depending on how far out.

I've been a season ticket holder from day 1, the first season. I soared with the good years and suffered with the bad, but I have never been so close to giving up my tickets as I was last year and this year.

Sadly I don't know what the answer is, but I am sick of the whole thing.

Isles would never go to Suffolk. A number of years ago, a minor league team called the Ducks folded up out in Commack because of lack of support. If they couldn't support a minor league team, why would they support the Isles?
