If you can not make it to the game, be sure to follow all of the action on newyorkislanders.com, where the game will be blogged live via The Tiger Track.

Because of course.... the evil Dolan empire isn't gonna BROADCAST these freakin games!

Tom, Cablevison has broadcasted raggie wolfpack playoff games.
BUt god forbid they'd broadcast one of ours, especially when it's being played at the barn.

But, that said, I have no interest.
I'll be grilin with my gumada tonight (j/k...my wife) we have company.

To those going, yell loud, to those blogging or worse yet, wasting their time watching a computer screen while someone else writes updates...(no comment)
It's friday night...do something constructive ya bastids.

;)

man this ref had like a hard on for any player of ours who spent more than half the year with the isles.. lots phantom calls.. (sim, okposo and hillen)

and we have a new DP

our goalie tonight did his Injrued DP impresionation. leaving the crease everytime the puck got near him, letting softees from long range, and letting in another goal 30 seconds into the game.. (everytime DP was mentioned in the "im from Bport" video, he was booed)

and tonights linesman, right out of the 80s with his pudgy looking face and mullet you could see from anywhere in the coliseum...

and we lose 5 mins into OT despite having a PP to start OT

Iggulden was injured at the start of the 2nd on an uncalled tripping penalty, needed help to get off and didnt come back...
(update: The news on Mike Iggulden isn’t good. The team is calling it an upper body injury and it’s not likely that he will play tomorrow in W-B/S. “I hope [the league] takes a look at it,” Coach Capuano said during his post-game media session. He went on to say that the hit should be a “suspension since it was a blow to the head and the league is supposed to protect the players.”)

the pens play dirty as hell and hit from behind and b/c of the 1 ref system, they know theyll always get away with it, and did plenty of times tonight...

That's what we said after the loss. Doesnt matter what team plays for us, we lose at the NVMC.

Besides the loss, it was a terrific night at the coliseum. A great great atmosphere, very family orientated. The activities between periods were fun to watch and my family had a great great time. My little one got a tee shirt from a launcher and was on the jumbotron, so that 11 year old had his greatest game.

It's too bad they lost.

My Dad is starting to call the place Fort Never-Win.....If the Tigers make it to Rd2 I'll head up to the Habor YArd. They really do a nice job up there.

And Game 4 is tonight from Bridgeport. You can follow the game live with Tom Liodioce on The Tiger Track right from the main website.

They HAVE to win this one so they can tie up the series and HOPEFULLY... Move on!

*Sure -- it's an ad for a close friend of mine. gotta problem with that? ;)

I have no idea how they did it... but it's at bridgeport tonight.
Wish I was too!!!

Webb20 - April 22, 2009 11:35 PM (GMT)
Me too. I really enjoyed the whole Soundtiger presentation of the game. It was different, I cant explain it, maybe a bit more collegiate( :dontknow: ) in atmosphere.

Webb20 - April 22, 2009 11:47 PM (GMT)
2-1 final

Pens end B'port's season..4-2

Dr. Generosity - April 25, 2009 01:45 PM (GMT)
This series is a welcome reminder that the depth of our pool of prospects is not terribly deep, and our rebuild project has a ways to go. Think about it, the Pens are a formidable NHL team and yet their minor club has beaten our minor club in the playoffs in two of the past, what, four seasons (2006, 2009).

A few days ago, Chris Botta was saying on his blog that the Isles' focus on the draft should end with the 2010 draft. He's quietly humming a different tune today.

IMHO we will need to continue building through the draft through 2012---that's five seasons, including last year and this year. Sure, we can add a few FAs and maybe swing a minor deal or two, but the draft is where we have to make things happen for the forseeable future. Even if you prefer building a team through trades, which I don't, you have to stockpile talent to make trades. Five years is not an unfair projection when you look at what Chicago, Pittsburgh, DC, and other teams have done to build powerful teams this decade.

LETS GO BRIDGEPORT!!!! :isles: :isles: :isles:
