People that know me here, know I am a huge Ohio State fan. Here is a touching story I saw at halftime of the OSU/Michigan basketball game last night. Also a youtube video at the end

Buckeye Blog Post Jan. 26 - A Piece of Tom Ryan's Heart Now Lives On at Hofstra

Late son Teague honored Sunday with naming of new wrestling facility

In February of 2004, third-year Ohio State wrestling head coach Tom Ryan suddenly lost his five year-old son, Teague.

Ryan, then coaching at Hofstra, and his wife Lynette were at a loss with the passing of their son, but the couple soon found overwhelming support from the Hofstra wrestling community and a project in Teague’s memory was born – the community would renovate the Pride’s wrestling complex in his name.

Yesterday, before the Ohio State-Hofstra dual, plans for state-of-the-art renovations to the Pride’s current wrestling facility and its dedication as the Teague Ryan Wrestling Complex were announced at a fundraising brunch and the Ryans were honored before the match.

While here only a short time, Teague has left a profound impression.

Now, his memory will carry on at Hofstra as the new facility will provide the Pride wrestling program with one of the best wrestling facilities in the northeast.
