Title: Jets Collapse
Description: How's it rank?

IslandersWin86 - December 21, 2008 11:51 PM (GMT)
How does this year's collapses rank? Take into account all the free agent money the Jets threw around this offseason.

3POTI - December 22, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
really shouldn't be that surprised about the jets, should ya?

sorry Jet fans...one more game.

I bet you'd take an Islander collapse about now. You would've at least gotten 3/4 of a year of good hockey.

SO TRUE
BUT I'M PATIENT

I dunno... the Mets really hit the pavement hard. The Jets were sort of riding a lucky high for a while after the slow start, so I guess it isn't as surprising.

MMingE - December 22, 2008 01:42 AM (GMT)
I can sum up the Jets collapse in 3 simple words...

SAME...OLD...JETS

MMingE - December 29, 2008 01:44 AM (GMT)
Same Old Jets and what's with the Florida teams ending the seasons of New York Teams ? First, the Marlins end the Mets season now the Dolphins .

UpIn301 - December 29, 2008 02:58 AM (GMT)
The Mets collapsed two years in a row. The Jets last three seasons were 10 wins, 4 wins and 9 wins. The collapse happened in the first half of last year, starting the season 1-7. With Favre likely not to return, the future looks bleak.

LEDZEP - December 29, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
The Jets finish season 9-7

Questions are is Farve coming back?
Looks to me he hurt shoulder 5 games ago.

If Farve is gone, Clemmons is a back up
Then they must get starting QB.

Rest of team fairly solid
D needs a tweak or two

The pain of being a Jet fan

On January 12, 1969 Joe Namath sold the Jets sole
to the devil for that Super Bowl win.

You call 40 years a drought?!? Tell that to a Cubs fan! :omg:

smittyrules31 - December 29, 2008 03:35 PM (GMT)
Mangini fired. Wow.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3797442

But I've been a Bronco fan since '77 so not too concerned about what happens with gang green.

Mets collapse was worse. Mets are biggest chokers because of the huge payroll.

drob4481 - December 29, 2008 04:56 PM (GMT)
what comes around goes around!

Let's go Dolphins!!

:D

clebo99 - December 29, 2008 06:45 PM (GMT)
Total Karma coming back to the Jets on this one.....Getting an old 29 year old QB and DUMPING the guy that bled green and white for them for 8 years.

BTW, the Ravens are going to pound the Fins....probably something like 31-7.

drob4481 - December 29, 2008 10:54 PM (GMT)
Don't underestimate the Dolphins!!!

3POTI - December 29, 2008 11:43 PM (GMT)
dolphins are going to win the superbowl....chad pennington gets mvp.

JimC1972 - January 6, 2009 05:44 AM (GMT)
Chad had 4 picks yesterday. Sorry Chad. BTW, the Jets weren't the only team to blow it down the stretch; the Bucs lost the last 4 games and missed the playoffs and the Broncos lost the last 3 and also missed the playoffs.

:dontknow:

Did any of you J-E-T-S fans really think Brett was the answer this year?

Since this season started, it was Brett :blah: Brett :blah: . I kept :letssee: , when will people realize this guy is done. The play-off game against the G-I-A-N-T-S should have proved to everyone he was done.

I have a little soft spot for the J-E-T-S and for this (B-r-e-t-t) I feel sorry for the fans. You got sold the "bill of goods" there.

Go STEELERS!! :punk:

JimC1972 - January 9, 2009 01:02 AM (GMT)
As a Jets fan, I didn't know what Brett had left in the tank. Last year's NFC Champ. game can't be used against him regardless of the picks. But the thought of Brett or Chad :letssee: , it was pretty much a no-brainer. I can't blame the ownership for trying. Unfortunately it backfired. What had Chad done lately up till he was released? He had 2 major surgeries on his shoulder, he has a noodle arm and did nothing last year.
For Giants fans they were calling for Eli's head before he turned it around last year.

3POTI - January 9, 2009 01:33 AM (GMT)
getting favre got everyone excited...gave some people maybe a little confidence..so it didn't work out..this year..I do believe though favre should come back and play, well I hope he does...he atleast can mentor that kid radcliff, don't know spelling sorry...that is if he wants to come back.

Yeah, having Favre did get people excited. How often does that happen to Jet fans? In terms if he'll come back, who knows? I wouldn't want to go out like this, the way the season ended. Jets have Clemens, maybe he needs some more time. Or maybe Ratliff or who else they can find via draft or FA. Whoever it is, I hope they have a good coach, like Billick or Fassel.

Now that Spagnoulo is taking the Rams job, are the Jets going to go after Gruden?

I think they're going after Rex Ryan, the Ravens DC
