Title: Tim Jackman vs. Jeff Tambellini
Description: Let the Islanders know how you feel
Webb20 - December 2, 2008 01:55 PM (GMT)
Ok boys and girls. With Okposo coming back into the lineup a winger has to be removed.
Here's your chance to tell Garth Snow and the Islanders just how you feel about Tambellini playing over Jackman. Put aside the fact that Tambellini has a one-way contract and Jackman has a two-way(our payroll is so low this should have no bearing). This is about the future of the Islanders, their development as a team, what makes us a better team and who has earned the right to play.

That doesnt mean we have to like it or agree with it. WE are the fans, WE go see the games, it's for OUR entertainment and WE are allowed to let our GM know what we think.

I don't get it.
Tambellini looks like a faster skating version of Brendan Witt playing monkey in the middle
while the opposition passes the puck around.
Jackman has always been involved on every shift, forcing turnovers, faceoffs in the offensive zone etc.
oh yeah, this is that other player that was awarded a 1 way contract by Garth.
Guess Garth is feeling better about the whole Bailey marketing machine along with us fans now supporting Nielsen to even be bothered by this caveat and enigma that is Jeff Tambellini.
Hope to see Jackman back up soon.

I agree with you steve. Jackman has been working his ass off and he's got the busted up face to prove it. I dont think I remember hearing or seeing Tambs on the ice the last 3 or 4 games. Jackman on the other hand... He's been battling. Giving himself up on the forecheck, forcing the other team to make mistakes or make stupid plays. Doesnt he have a goal or two also? More than we can say for Mr. AHL. I would love to see Jackman stay up and use Tambs as a healthy scratch but I dont see it happening. We're praying form you Timmy!

Well, we get our wish, sorta.
Just read latest Botta blog info.
Jackman and Fritz practiced today thanks to some injuries.
Guess they called em back just as soon as they sent em down.
"Just when I got out, they pulled me back in"
Webb20 - December 2, 2008 07:50 PM (GMT)
I see what you mean by sorta. It's only because Okposo and Thompson are questionable for Thursday. I'm happy that Jackman is back in but not for the reason. This has nothing to do Jackman playing ahead of Tambellini. When those two return, we'll be in the same debate about who should be playing.

I know I will be lasted for this... :fear:
Jackman, for all his efforts, is to be commended. However, at best, we are talking about a 3rd liner here. Tambellini is playing like a 4th liner, but in the organization's eyes has more of an upside. The question is: do we ever get to see it in an Islander unform? Tambellini has been invisible, but with all the young talent this organization has given up on to succeed elsewhere, they will not get burned this time.
We are going nowhere this year anyway. Give him til the trade deadline and if he is still at where we are today (no-where), then action needs to be taken at that point.

I kind of enjoy seeing tamby pretending to be a hockey player out there. He is living a dream. Good for him. He is like our mascot. We should keep him forever and ever and ever.... :goofy2:

This is suppose to be a hockey team, not on ice charity work.

This election was like Jesus vs. Hitler.

Even Hitler would have gotten more votes then Invisbellini.

Yeah man, I want this guy out of here. His confidence is completely shot, and he plays like a pansy. He excels in the AHL because in the AHL the physicality is nowhere near the NHL level, there is so much room and time to do what you want, and Tambellini has the tools that let him thrive there. In the NHL, you need more than just skills.
The Sound Tigers are awesome this year. Give them an extra 30 goal scorer in Tambellini and give us Jackman back and they'll still win the Calder Cup

but the Islanders have been giving to charities this whole season and the year before. Why not bring it to the ice?
:letssee:
Jeff Tambellini Night for charity. Wonder how much the check will be?
or is this in bad taste?

We give him a check of $7,000 every game and we'll continue giving him a check next season for almost $8,000 a game whether he plays or not. Can we take him to court for not delivering goods or service? If not then it's a charitable donation to the Jeff Tambellini for Wayward AHLers Foundation.
