How I miss players who could both score and stand up for a team mate when needed.
I don't think there is any player like Gillies in the whole league nowadays.

This is Mike Bossy's first and only NHL fight.
The fight lasts about four seconds :D and begins at 1:20 or so, when Mike tugs on Behn Wilson's jersey, inadvertently giving Wilson the green light to throw hands. Then, friendly ol' Chico Resch, of all people, joins the melee and Bob Nystrom and the rest of the calvary jump the boards to protect Boss.
Boss got a fighting major, of course, which I recall he later called a "five-minute getting the sh*t kicked out of you penalty." He also said that he remembered having the entire National Hockey League sit on him during the fight (see 1:57 for an example).

Gotta love the announcers... "This whole thing started with Gillies and Hoyda after Hoyda checked Mike Bossy". No. Hoyda charged Bossy and was called for a penalty...then Gillies kicked his arse.
Was cracking up when they scrolled across the screen that the Mary Tyler Moore show and Dating Game were following the game.
