Advanced Professional Banner

This tutorial will show you how I made the banner on this site.

Open a new document. 728x100 (px)

Set your Foreground color to #E0E0E0

Set your Background color to #FFFFFF

Make a new layer. Grab the gradient tool. Hold Shift and click and hold at the top of the document and drag to the bottom.

Make a new layer and grab the Pen Tool. Go to View > Show > Grid

Now, with the pen tool, follow the numbers. Where it says '1' click the square and follow to '5'. Now, when you get to '5' click back on the 1st square to connect them.

Now, get the Convert Point Tool. ( Under the Pen Tool.)

Where the first square is, click and drag it to where I have it. (Follow the Red.)

Go to Window > Paths

Go to View > Show > Grid ( To turn it back off.)

Change your Foreground color to #F8F8F8

In the paths window, right click the first path, and select Fill Path.

Fill it with the foreground color. Now, Right click the first path and select Delete Path.

Merge the layers together. ( CTRL+E)

Duplicate the layer and right click the newly duplicated layer and go to Blending Options.

Select Inner Glow and follow these settings -

Now, go to Bevel and Emboss and follow these settings. -
