Title: Howdy from B/CS Texas!
Description: New Venox Owner in town...
Becia - June 22, 2008 06:03 PM (GMT)
Howdy all!
My name is Becia, and I'm going to be the proud new owner of a Kymco Venox 250 in about 2 1/2 hours when I pick her up from the friend I'm buying her from.
I've never ridden a motorcycle before, but am signed up for the class down here, and have bought several books to facilitate my learning. Came across this website when doing searches on the Venox, and thought "hey, why not join."
I'm a female, which has caught several people by surprise when I tell them I'm the one getting the bike, not anyone else. Scared the heck out of the parents initially, but they've adjusted ha ha.
Looking forward to riding and learning from you good folks! Have a good one!

:piwyrwelcome: Glad you found us! Lots of great people w/expert Venox knowlege here. Just ask any qs & look over the older threads in the Venox section. Lots more women are riding their own bikes now than when I got my first bike. And several here have a Venox.
Taking a class is the best way to begin. :2c: for the outdoor session: eat a high protein breakfast before your class, have a couple easy to get to snacks handy & twice as much water as you think you'll need!
Enjoy!

:WelcomeWave: G'day Becia, its good to see another Venox rider in the clan. You have picked one of the best bikes to ride and learn on and there are plenty of Venox owners around here to give you help and advice when you need it. We dont have the Venox in Australia, although Kymco does have a foothold in the market place they only have their scooters available. Anyway welcome to the Pride. :moto:

B/CS is short for Bryan/College Station. If you've ever heard of Texas A&M University and the Texas A&M Aggies, then you know where I'm from :) If not, I'm about 90 miles from Houston.
My bike's colors are silver and black, and lots of shiny chrome! She's a 2006 model, and only has 742 miles on her. Yep, seven hundred and forty two miles :)
Got her home safely, and can't wait to get her out again. My ultimate goal right now is to be confident enough in myself to ride her to our family gathering in December. The parents, sister and nieces will be driving down from Ohio to Dallas, and I'd love to make the 4 hour trip on her as a surprise to everyone.

PHOTOS
How about posting your bike photos in our on site Photobucket
PHOTO GALLERY ?
If there is not a sub album already there, go ahead and add one with as many sub albums as you wish. Tag the pics with as many tags as you want to help tell a story with the pic. , it will also be picked up when anyone searches photobucket for that tag. Great way to advertise your bike, the brand and PIWYR !
There are some ''how to'' topics and login links at the top there.
THEN request your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM and we can set up a topper slideshow where you can add more pics to it as you have them. We can then also add this link to each of your posts.

which will take everyone straight to your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM where YOU control the topics and whats in them. Its your own personal space.
To set the last one up you will also need to join the
PIWYRfeatures Forum to post in and to view your own personal forum.

very low mileage for a 2006 so it must have sat around a lot..in a garage ?.
You say you bought it from a friend, do you know if the oil has been changed ?
The mileage says its not necessary, the year says it IS, if it has not been done.
You also need to be sure ALL surfaces are protected from rusting..

Welcome to the group. Nice to have a fellow Venox owner and Texan among us. I live over in Nacogdoches. Good luck with the motorcycle class.

Photos are coming; Gotta find my connector cord for the digital first.
She was covered, stored in a garage, and they just changed the oil before I picked her up.
