Title: Plexifairing 3 - National cycle windshields???
Description: - anyone used this shield.....
vortex_01 - June 18, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
I have been looking to get a windshield for my new UM V2C 250T (gv250) and was liking the looks of the Plexifairing 3 which has lowers built in. Has anyone used this shield or have any info on the fitting of the national shields?
BTW this is my first bike, ever, and I am open to any suggestions you guys may have.
Just logged my 1st 100 miles :-)

 Congrats! Whole new kind of fun - and it only gets better every year! If I'm reading correctly, you have a Hyosung GV250? That is what I've got, though she's in sick bay now. Sigh, my bike is Spirit, whose rebuild after my first 'incident' is on the Hyosung, Maintenance Q&A, GV250 board. IF YOU DO NOT YET HAVE ON ENGINE GUARDS - DO THIS!!! I'm convinced they saved my leg so all I have is a small quarter size spot of leather gone from the side of my boot.
If
is the same as National Cycle that the windshield I have & it's great.
I've had 2 different windshields on my GV250. The stock windshield direct from Hyosung lasted about 5 miles before I turned around, went back to my dealer and said 'take it off & find me something that doesn't vibrate so much'. Ummm, I did most of those miles at 140kph since I was 'testing' The Hyo shield only had 2 points of contact.
Bill found me a NATIONAL CYCLE STREET SHIELD which is perfect. No matter what my speed. It's got 4 contacts. (And popped off nicely when I crashed. ) PM montingeau for specifics.

Thats a great looking shield with a lot of rider protection.
I do not think I have heard of any of our members using this shield yet.
I looked into this one a few years ago for my Venox but do not remember the particulars... does it come detailed with hardware just for a GV or is there a 'universal' version like some of their shields are.

:old: The first shield I put on a Venox was one and it was a universal type thing if my memory serves me. The owner got it else where and brought it in and I mounted it. I was able to do it with only the hardware in the box.
