Title: New guy from Minnesota
Description: intro

hankscorpio - June 11, 2008 04:15 PM (GMT)
Hi there, board. I'm Tony from St. Paul. Not big on intros so please be gentle.

I haven't ridden in many years but now with gas prices as there are here in the US (yes, know it's worse in Europe) I'm looking at getting a bike.

The Hyosung Avitar has really caught my eye and from what I have read here is very much liked by its riders. I have a dealer right up the road from my place with a nice new black one in stock.

My question is, how hard/easy is it to get replacement parts when you need them? I have a friend whose husband works at a motorcycle shop (small town, competing brands) and asked her to ask him about them. He said it's very difficult to get parts "even for him" with these types of, as he called them, "throwaway bikes". I'm sure there's a bias but, I'd think it shouldn't be as difficult as all that if they are truly as popular throughout the world as the marketing would have you believe.

I'm suprised he did not say "throwaway Chinese Crap bikes" as that is how the uninformed usually call them.

And of course you know they are Korean Crap... :hahaha:

Parts can be a problem... with certain dealers.
But YOU have another alternative:

RICHARDHYOSUNG (Richard Jordan) a PIWYR Dealer Member who LIVES in Korea not far from the Hyosung plant.

He usually ships in 3-5 days, faster then ANY branded manufacturer.

He has his own Forum here at the site on the ''IN THE BIZ'' board.
Go check it out...

I saw numerous mentions of his site and looked it over. cool that he can do that for folks! I gotta talk to my dealer to see what he says. There's actually another dealer on the other side of the Twin Cites I could check with as well. I was a little shocked when I found more than one dealer in my area.

I also wondered what it would take to get your own dealership. Wouldn't be a bad thing because motorcycles and scooters are for sure going to be really big sellers in the near future (ok BIGGER sellers) :D

Thanks all. Got a quick reply from the Hyosung corp folks for the local area when I made an inquiry about parts and a glowing review of the shop I'm looking at buying from.

I'm getting pushed back from buying right now though as my building manager had a death in the family and no one else can talk to me about getting a garage at my building! "she'll be back in around a week" Argh!

oh and errol, damn right it does. :okthumb:

PHOTOS

How about posting your bike photos in our on site Photobucket PHOTO GALLERY ?

If there is not a sub album already there, go ahead and add one with as many sub albums as you wish. Tag the pics with as many tags as you want to help tell a story with the pic. , it will also be picked up when anyone searches photobucket for that tag. Great way to advertise your bike, the brand and PIWYR !

There are some ''how to'' topics and login links at the top there.

THEN request your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM and we can set up a topper slideshow where you can add more pics to it as you have them. We can then also add this link to each of your posts.user posted image which will take everyone straight to your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM where YOU control the topics and whats in them. Its your own personal space.

To set the last one up you will also need to join the PIWYRfeatures Forum to post in and to view your own personal forum.

Working on the pics.

I pulled the name "chrome" off over the weekend. I think it just looks cleaner that way. and I found that while I purchased the bike with black paint, there's actually blue metal flake in it (saw it when the sun finally came out this weekend). I KNEW that it looked to have a slightly blue tint to it when I was looking at it but they said it was black.

obxbiker - July 1, 2008 10:12 PM (GMT)
The ''BLACK'' Venox is the same...though in some countrys (Spain etc) they have actually had a true Blue.

hankscorpio - July 1, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)
I saw on the Hyosung website that it's color code is MB, Midnight black
