Title: Hello from Austin Texas
Description: Intro
wayoutsilver - June 11, 2008 12:03 AM (GMT)
Hello,
I'm Phil from Austin Texas. Started riding a Honda MB5 (50cc - 2 stroke) when I was 18, a '74 Honda 350-4 from ~21-26yrs., a Yamaha RD-350 (2 stroke) from 26-34yrs. For the last 8 yrs. I've been without a cycle, until last month, when I got the Hyosung GV-250, mainly due to information from web sites like this one that spoke very highly of the GV (thanks.)
I'm going to be leaving this Friday the 13th (!) & driving solo from here to the Smokey Mountains in North Carolina. If all goes well I'll have put over 3000 miles/4828 km on it in a bit over 2 weeks. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks for all the info,
Phil

:WelcomeWave: G'day Phil and welcome to the Pride mate. Its good to see another Hyo rider in the clan and I wish I could go on the ride with you. I cant give you much advice on your run (as Im not from that region), other than dress for the weather and road conditions, take it easy and have a good time (also dont forget to post photo's when you get back.) But the GV250 is a good bike to get back in on the riding scene with so your shouldnt had any problems, so have a good run. :moto:

WELCOME ! !
Hope we hear about the trip and :PICS?: for the boards when you get back.
Several things to suggest to take with in a tool bag.
We have a topic on it on the ACCESSORIES board (??)
DEFINITLY take a good plug kit that has co2 cartridges to put a little air back in just in case you do have to plug.
Plenty of water...etc

Welcome to PIWYR wayoutsilver :piwyrwelcome: :hyosungcool:
Sounds like a fantastic trip your going to have. I'm not sure whether you GV250 is new? Such a long trip a guess your going to have plenty of luggage. Spare oil, brake fluid and a spare clutch cable would be good (if bike not new) if you have a chance to get one between now and this Friday13th.
Have a great trip, look forward to reading about your "two wheel tale" :camera:

To give me mates from 'down under' an idea how far a trip...

Looks like a resonable distance
What do you mean it wont be this straight - I thought you only had straight roads in the US :hahaha: :hahaha:
