Title: New Member OZ, Hyo GV650, clutch issues..
Description: OZ, in the state of Victoria
cradeemar - June 8, 2008 04:37 PM (GMT)
Well I am a new member to this site and have a GV650 (07). I love the bike and in 12 months have clocked up 25.000 KLMs.
The mirrors had been replaced four times, until the GV250 ones were used and they have so far proved a success.
I have had nothing but trouble with my clutch from day one. It has been replaced twice - not completely. However it looks like it may now be completely replaced shortly.
The clutch will not disengage and it grinds the gears when first is engaged.
I am now wondering how much metal is floating around in the motor.
I am registered on ACD and thought I would try another site.
I would like to hear from anyone with any thoughts/ideas.
I live in OZ, in the state of Victoria.

PHOTOS
How about posting your bike photos in our on site Photobucket
PHOTO GALLERY ?
If there is not a sub album already there, go ahead and add one with as many sub albums as you wish. Tag the pics with as many tags as you want to help tell a story with the pic. , it will also be picked up when anyone searches photobucket for that tag. Great way to advertise your bike, the brand and PIWYR !
There are some ''how to'' topics and login links at the top there.
THEN request your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM and we can set up a topper slideshow where you can add more pics to it as you have them. We can then also add this link to each of your posts.

which will take everyone straight to your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM where YOU control the topics and whats in them. Its your own personal space.
To set the last one up you will also need to join the
PIWYRfeatures Forum to post in and to view your own personal forum.
P.I.W.Y.R. FORUM - June 8, 2008 05:47 PM (GMT)
Welcome to the site... I'm sure some Hyosung GV650 owners will be here soon to offer an opinion on your clutch.
As the site is currently a lot for a new member to take in a great way to learn the different forums is to navigate at first using the
@ Site MapYou might also want to check out the future format for the forum.
Click here to see the new
BETA ZETAboard test site.
Both of these links are also in the sidebar.
There are also some helpful links in my sig.
Learn where everything is and you will have a great time here. If you have any questions please post them or send a moderator a PM.

G'Day and welcome, it's always good to see another Aussie on the site.
I am also in Vic :)
Which dealer do you use? I find Staffords in Heidelberg the best to deal with, esp with my GV250.

Welcome to the Pride cradeemar :WelcomeWave:
I think I've seen your posts on this on ACD so really have nothing new to add, sorry. If they are replacing the entire assembly you should be OK :okthumb:

Welcome to the Pride!!!
Great to have you here!!
This might be a silly question, but you wouldn't have the engine idling too high would you? Can make things a bit trickier when it comes to getting it into gear. :2c:

hmmm wonder if that's my problem too, hard to get 2nd and clunks bad going into first. Of course without a TACHO :furious: :furious: I wouldn't know.

I have always believed that the idle should be as slow as possible. No point using a heap of fuel when you aren't going anywhere!
An easy way to test if it isn;t too slow is this: Turn the idle down real slow, and 'pop' the accelerator. If it doesn't rev like it should, you need to turn it up a bit.

G'day and welcome to the Pride Cradeemar (interesting name), it sounds like your not having a good run mate. The mirror problem is fairly common, being plastic doesnt help things. The GV250 mirror swap is fairly common over here as well, even though they are plastic, they are definately a better mirror than the original ones. I decided to get after market metal mirrors soon after I got my GV650 and I havent had any problems. And with your clutch, hopefully your problems will be a thing of the past once they have replaced the entire clutch assembly. There is no point in advising you on the clutch adjustment process as Im pretty sure that the workshop would have done every possible adjustment in any case. :moto:

Well Hi to all that have welcomed me and given some advice.
No it is not idling too fast!
At the moment Peter Stevens in Melbourne (AUST) has put it in the too hard basket and do not ring me or my repairer.
We ring and do not get any response thta indicates some action, just thw run a round.
At the monent I would not recommend a Hyosung to anyone, not the bikes fault, however if you can not get service to fix a 12 month problem, what hope do you have for anything else.

This is the problem as some of our AU members will say..
