Title: Hello from Toronto (Canada)

proxyissues - June 6, 2008 05:58 PM (GMT)
I'm about to get a GV250, likely this weekend. I had decided between it and the V-Star 250 but ended up going with the GV250 mainly due to this site, http://www.richardhyosunggvgt.com, and price.

But I do have a couple of questions for anyone with GV250 experiences.
Any tips/tricks needed getting it into neutral to rest when your at a stop light?

Anybody know how to turn off the music that starts playing on the sight other than to disable all Flash in the browser?

You must be using a mac as those users are the only ones who have said that they can hear it.

IF it is only one song that you can hear try going to the PIWYR HOME ENTRY PORTAL and turn off the slide show there.

If not the only other thing is to try useing IE (??)

EDIT
PS. just remembered we also have an auto play slide on the GALLERY board.

Is it ONE song ?

Rode my bike to TORONTO in '81! Enjoyed the scenery and the people! Hope to go back!

:WelcomeWave: G'day "Proxyissues", welcome to the Pride mate. There are several ways of making it easier to find neuteral at a stop, firstly one way is to down shift all the way to neutral before actually stopping and the other is to adjust the clutch cable so gear shifting is easier. But one thing to note is that all new bikes are tight for a better word as everthing is bedding down during the breaking in period, so gear shifting can be abit hard at first (such as finding neutral etc) but as the miles start building up you will find that the gearbox action will become smoother as time goes on. But if you find that you have any problems just take it back to the shop, any mechanic worth their salt will be more than happy to have a look and answer any questions you might have. But anyway mate is there any story behind the unusal name ya have? :evilgrin1:

Thanks for the info.
Yes I'm using a Mac, though why only Mac's get the one song treatment I do not know. Until I disabled flash it was same song, but the song only lasted a couple of days and then it was another.

Proxyissues is the email address I made when I was on site at a customer (DaimlerChrylser) who had a very restrictive firewall and proxy that didn't allow me email access. So I couldn't email 'my' support staff for questions I had and couldn't deal with and had to wait until I got back to hotel.

Well, off to buy the bike. I tried out a Triumph 650cc bike last night of a friend and a 450cc Ducati and yes, I definately think a 650cc for beginners is too much. Even in a large parking lot feeling the power of the two a new rider can get themselves into a lot of trouble. This has pretty much cemented me for a GV250 for at least a season.

Then it is the auto play slide show on the PIWYR HOME ENTRY PORTAL.

shadow (Alan) is always changing it. Did you try turning it off ? Do not know if it will stay that way when you navigate away from the page but give it a try...

Welcome to PIWYR proxyissues

:piwyrwelcome: :WelcomeWave:

You will love the GV250. :woohoo:

I agree with eveything Dave mentioned about "finding neutral"
Up until you get your first service at 1000kms neutral will at times, be difficult to find if you do not shift down before stopping.
I found after this initial break-in period things free up and and you find it all easier.
:okthumb:

Let us know how it goes.

:WelcomeWave: :piwyrwelcome: Apart from the HP issue the 650's are heavier too, also not such a wonderful thing for the beginner. Smaller and lighter is not always such a bad thing. The GV250 still has quite a lot of power and its really not that much smaller size-wise.
