vortex_01 - June 6, 2008 04:34 PM (GMT)
Hello and I am glad to be here!
I am in Oregon and have just ordered my new and very first bike from Sargents her in PDX. My 2008 black and orange V2C 250T should be ready to ride on or about Friday teh 13th. Hmmm no matter I make my own luck hehe.
I will be introducing myself to the bike out in the sticks near where I live until I take the team oregon safety course, Then I can really take her out and enjoy the road. My wife is into learning to ride also so we will be a multi bike family in the future.

For after you get the bike....
PHOTOS How about posting your bike photos in our on site Photobucket
PHOTO GALLERY ?
If there is not a sub album already there, go ahead and add one with as many sub albums as you wish. Tag the pics with as many tags as you want to help tell a story with the pic. , it will also be picked up when anyone searches photobucket for that tag. Great way to advertise your bike, the brand and PIWYR !
There are some ''how to'' topics and login links at the top there.
THEN request your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM and we can set up a topper slideshow where you can add more pics to it as you have them. We can then also add this link to each of your posts.

which will take everyone straight to your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM where YOU control the topics and whats in them. Its your own personal space.
To set the last one up you will also need to join the
PIWYRfeatures Forum to post in and to view your own personal forum.

Welcome to the Pride vortex_01, roll on the 13th :okthumb:
Nice choice of bike and colour - we don't get the orange flavours in Oz.
Happy and safe riding, glad you're taking that course.
Oh yeah, bring on the pics! :PICS?:

:crap: Ok I got my bike today!!!
I did have a few problems with the dealership though like they didn't have it ready for me to pickup until way after the sun was up I mean really making me wait until they opened. :lolsign: No they were great and I would and have reccomended them to others. That would be sargents motorsports, check a few replies up and you will see them :-)
I got it unloaded from my truck with no problems, but as I haven't gotten my endorsment I was unable to take it out on the road. Well actually I am going to since we live in the country but our local mounties just got themselves a new toy too and he is staking out our road on his new Harley. I am glad they are getting those guys who killed so many of our cats but why today? :crap:
The imoprtant thing is that I have it here and can get some practice in on his off shift.

She is a real beauty. That is a great colour combo.
All the 2008 GV250's that I have seen have the BIG canon exhaust, thank goodness they don't do that to the V2C-250T. :moto:
Still wish they had a tacho on the digital screen though.
I have mentioned it before but a great DVD I found was "Ride Like A Pro IV"
A great dvd showing the "How to" of slow manoeuvring a cruiser bike. :okthumb:

Have fun & be safe.

Must have been torture :lolsign:
Sweet looking bike, pity about the digital instrumentation but that seems to be the way everything is going, at least you still have the option of being able to retrofit the old analogue twin dials if you want to.
Safe riding when Hog-Bear isn't about. :moto: :okthumb: :moto:

Yes OBX that is the place Sargents Motorsports in Portland, Oregon. And from reading many post befor I decided to get this bike the one negative thing was dealership problems so I checked them out and would have drive the hour and a half to another dealers if I didn't like'm. But I did so they get my business.
Now the important stuff. I took her out on my first ride this morning and had a great time. Being a new rider I was a bit on edge but she did great. Handled well on all the turns and there are alot of turns out here everything from 10 to 45 mph corners and many of them one right after another. I am not so confident at the low speeds yet but I am sure I will get better with manuvering. The main straightaway is right in front of my house and I can easily get upto 65mph with no effort and she handles the little bumps and rises just fine at that speed. Downshifting is taking a little getting used to also, just learnign what speeds are best to downshift on. The compression is great for downhills, lots of those here to, needed very little break on the steap twisties (15-30mph turns).
Having fun and staying safe.

looking good vortex although I hope you were wearing a helmet and something a little more solid than a T when you had your run
vortex_01 - June 16, 2008 02:38 AM (GMT)
yeah I was no worries there, my wife not only insisted she "made" me get leathers and promiss to always use them. That pic was just after getting it off the truck. Thaks for careing though :-)
DId a little 40 mile run fatherday morning and went exploring some back roads nearby. Very fun went nice and easy as there were alot of deer near the roads, didnt' see a single vehicle until I returned to within about 1/2 mile from the house. Great ride lots of turns and some well kept unused roads. Also the scenery was great but that goes without saying as I am in Oregon, the great northwest.
