Title: Hello, Another Venox in Upstate Ny
Description: -Clubvenox Question about engines

Luckyeddy - June 4, 2008 01:14 AM (GMT)
I have had a venox since last year (2007) and have put 2600 trouble free kilometers on it. I have been looking at the spanish language "clubvenox" site from spain and it seems like there are a lot of posts about engine seizures there. My spanish is kind of rusty and i use dial up so i have not used a translator. Has anyone else noted this forum, and is engine seizure a problem with our bikes? Ed

:old: :WelcomeWave: Glad to see you no engine failures are not the norm with a venox.

obxbiker - June 4, 2008 01:40 AM (GMT)
Eddy I have been a member at Clubvenox for 2 years (?)
Now I do NOT read Spainish but have not notice the problem that you are refering to there. Could you provide links to ''a lot of posts about engine seizue'' ?

Would like to see what its all about. My quess seeing all the mods they try is some not done properly. Have seen many where they have made air box adjustments and rejetting after vthat is a bitch to do...

We have a lot of co-members between the sites and have links from here to there and vise versa.

Have never heard of an engine seizue reported here....

soooooo :piwyrwelcome:

where do you live in upstate NY ?

PHOTOS

How about posting your bike photos in our on site Photobucket PHOTO GALLERY ?

If there is not a sub album already there, go ahead and add one with as many sub albums as you wish. Tag the pics with as many tags as you want to help tell a story with the pic. , it will also be picked up when anyone searches photobucket for that tag. Great way to advertise your bike, the brand and PIWYR !

There are some ''how to'' topics and login links at the top there.

THEN request your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM and we can set up a topper slideshow where you can add more pics to it as you have them. We can then also add this link to each of your posts.user posted image which will take everyone straight to your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM where YOU control the topics and whats in them. Its your own personal space.

To set the last one up you will also need to join the PIWYRfeatures Forum to post in and to view your own personal forum.

this is the link to the section of their forums (foros) that talks about "AVISO IMPORTANTE *** GRIPAJES MOTOR" which roughly tranlates as important advisory motor seizures. there is about 6 pages re: this here. As best as i can see they run the venox quite hard there and they don't hold up?? I am trying to sell mine as a result of this, but seemingly cannot give it away, I foreshadowed this problem when i reviewd the 2006 venox i own on the "powersportnetwork" review that I titled "little big bike"
Has anyone with high speed run bablefish on this link? maybe I am premaure in wanting to sell. Ed

I think you are, I have two and have never had such a trouble free bike(s).
Got the first one in 2003 (its now ''OBnoXious'' custom) and have put over 30,000 km. The other in 2006 ('Yellow Nox') with now about 18,000km...

My opinion is there is always a 'reason'.. how many bikes are we talking about ? have they been maintained correctly ? what mods have been done on them ?

will get the translator out tomorrow read the topic and go and ask the admin there Edgatho (also a member here) or moderator begober (Bernard also a member here) both whos English is good and advise on the forum what I find out.

tomorrow....

obxbiker - June 4, 2008 02:23 AM (GMT)
first page it is reported that 3 bikes... with of course more posts the oppisite.

hardly any details except for one and it seemed to be complaining about not getting it back from the dealer..

any problem that has been reported here (3 in 3 years (??) ) have always at the end seemed to be dealer related.

WTF ! I just noticed THATS a year old topic (when it was started) !! :lolsign:

and only 52 posts in that time ( most possitive)...but with 18,733 views !!

Luckyeddy - June 4, 2008 02:25 AM (GMT)
Sounds good, I will check back tomorrow, I live between rochester and syracuse ny. This is about my 6th road bike i have had: RD 350, virago 750, suzuki gs300, shadow 600 vlx and triumph legend tt 900 prior to venox, mainly bought it because it was cheap (demo otd for 3500) and wanted to see about how the quality was of a new wave import.

Now lets put THAT in perspective... at that time last year here in the USA there had been sold about 1200 bikes..... in Spain it was about 7,000..

it looks like 4 complaints, with no history as to what I stated before.

thata a .057 faliure rate..IF it was a 'bad engine'

you have nothing at all to worry about, you are more likely to get run over by a semi truck.

just take care of your nox and it will take care of you ! :okthumb:

Thanks for the info I will use this resource a lot more once I get high speed ineternet. Is there a less graphics intensive site for us poor B**tards with dial up?

Dave - June 6, 2008 02:30 AM (GMT)
:WelcomeWave: G'day and welcome to the Pride Eddie, there is a dial up friendy version of the site some where around here. Its good but it has a few limitations such as not being able to send posts from there but its a good way of being able to read everything without waiting hours for it to download. I used it alot before I changed my service provider, George will be able to help you when he comes back on line (he is never too far away) Anyway mate welcome and enjoy your Venox, its a great bike. :evilgrin1:

:WelcomeWave: Welcome Ed. I'm not a moderator or anything, but I just wanted to say hi, and congratulate you on a good purchase. Don't sell it. I haven't had mine for very long, but I'm convinced. You'll find that this site is jam packed with all kinds of great info. and great people willing to help. I noticed you wrot that you had a 750 Virago as one of your earlier rides. I had an '85 750 Virago which I really loved. Anyway, the Venox is a great "big, little ride" enjoy it.
