Title: Hi all, I'm a new Venox owner.

annox - May 31, 2008 03:38 AM (GMT)
I'm sure glad I found this forum. My name is Anthony and this is my second bike. It's an '07, black, and when the sun hits it just right, the blue flake comes alive! I live here on central Florida's gulf coast (great place to ride), and haven't been on a bike for six years since I sold my 700 Yamaha Virago :crap: when I lived up north. Not knowing much about the Kymco Venox, it was more an economical purchase for me with the rising cost of fuel :pull: (plus I love to ride). :moto: I must admit I really do miss the power, as I'm used to being on at least a 700 and I was considering trading up for something bigger. Now that I'm here and seeing some of the great mods you people are doing  , I'm reconsidering. I really do like the looks and feel of the bike, and having read through some of your experiences on this forum, I do have "pride in what I ride". :kymcocool: I guess I have a lot to learn as far as using the features on this site. i am new here and do find it a little confusing. I hope to be able to post some photos, tell you about my Venox, and get with the program soon. Thanks for reading and take care.

:piwyrwelcome: WELCOME :piwyrwelcome: Anthony !!

The first and most important thing to do to your Nox is to get the 43 tooth rear sprocket as it will turn that 5th gear into a power gear !

The next would be a 2n2-1 exhaust.

If any interest I can dirrect you to where...

My ''OBnoXious' Venox use to be the black/blue too with shade shifter liquid flames...

PHOTOS

How about posting your bike photos in our on site Photobucket PHOTO GALLERY ?

If there is not a sub album already there, go ahead and add one with as many sub albums as you wish. Tag the pics with as many tags as you want to help tell a story with the pic. , it will also be picked up when anyone searches photobucket for that tag. Great way to advertise your bike, the brand and PIWYR !

There are some ''how to'' topics and login links at the top there.

THEN request your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM and we can set up a topper slideshow where you can add more pics to it as you have them. We can then also add this link to each of your posts.user posted image which will take everyone straight to your own personal MEMBER GALLERY/FORUM where YOU control the topics and whats in them. Its your own personal space.

To set the last one up you will also need to join the PIWYRfeatures Forum to post in and to view your own personal forum.

Yes! The sprocket and the exhaust will be my first mods. I bought it second hand and it already has nice bags, sissy bar, a shield, and the light bar on front. Speaking of sprocket... I'm used to a shaft drive, and I was wondering... do all the chain drives have that "chainey"-"sprocketey" sound that has become so audible to me during my first two weeks on it? I'm just not used to a chain bike.

No.. you might be missing the rubber 'guard' that keeps it from directly hitting the metal. There should be one at the top front.... also is your chain tight enough ?

Well, I'll have to check for the rubber guard.(thanks for that info) I'm fairly certain that I adjusted the chain properly (a little play). Also I noticed the original owner used chain grease, which is flinging all over the wheel, so I cleaned it off and put on some chain wax. It still continues to have a metallic, rubbing/bearing sound. (just over 3000 miles, by the way) If you think of anything else, fell free to post. I think this will be my last post for the night, though. You've been very helpful, and it's been a pleasure chatting with you george. I think this issue would make a great topic starter. I'm not too proud to ask questions. That's how we learn. Take care.

:old: Welcome I have never like chain wax I use PJ1 I think and just clean my rim when I can. It is messer but I like the way it lubes and it is quieter. I had a chain noise with the wax also

Sorry about the late welcome. I to use liquid chain lube on my Venox. Granted a chain will make alittle more noise than a shaft. I have notice that if you clean your wheel and put on a good coat of wax. Iit will help the next time you have to clean the chain lube off. Plus it makes it look really good. You will love the sprocket kit. Put mine on and cant say enough good things about. IF you need any help give me a shout.

Thank you mojo and thank you obx for putting in the pic. In time I will do these mods. (soon as I can part with some cash). Proud to say my truck hasn't moved since I bought my nox. I've been really lucking out with the weather too. Bound to get wet sooner or later, but it's funny how I keep missing the rain by seconds!

I took these pics after having removed all the accessories (saddle bags, seat back/cargo rack, wind shield). Of course I'll put them back on, I just like to change the look of the bike now and then. As you can see, I'm missing the two chrome pods that mount along side the back fender, where the seat back/rack was mounted by the original owner, so now I'm looking for those too.(orig. owner tossed 'em) Anyway, more to come. I've got to get on board with the "where you live and ride" section too... just wish I had more time.

Hey George, I know that at least one of the members has a video of the power pro pipes. I thought it sounded really good compared to the 2 into 1 despite all the wind noise on the video ( please don't misunderstand.. I have a great deal of respect for ahmish and cbxman and I think the 2n2 1 is awesome:clap: for the price. but c'mon! how cool do those shotgun pipes sound and look?. Are those the shotgun pipes advertised on Kimco.Biz? Are there any othor aud./vid files that demonstrate how the p.p. pipes sound? Also, do they install without further adjustments like the 2n2 1?

G'day Annox and welcome to the Pride mate, your bike is looking good and it looks like the Venox mob are taking over. :moto:

Get with tony_dt about the POWER PROS pipes as he is the one in the Video.
They do seem to be even louder then the 2n2-1 pipes.
I do know they are different in that they are all new pipes and not just a new end piece.

They DO cost quite a bit more... $500 vs under $200...
And yes they are the pipes at KYMCO.biz

BUT.... definitly do the sprocket KIT FIRST

I think I still have a set from the 'OBnoXious' venox build...would have to dig them out and check the condition if your interested.

:okthumb: Thanks Dave.

Anthony, just stuck and tagged the pic you posted in the slide show in the
PIWYRMEMBERSGALLERY and started a sub album with all three pics in it.

http://z11.invisionfree.com/PIWYRfeatures/...php?showforum=1

The pic thats on the 'cover' being tagged will show up when ever someone in photobucket searchs for VENOX - KYMCO - www.prideinwhatyouride.com

It should soon show if you click the photobucket links at the top of the forum.
