Title: Qlink offers free roadside assistance
dpetrick - May 23, 2008 01:44 PM (GMT)
I saw this on the Qlink site. If you buy a new Qlink street legal bike or scooter it now comes with 1 year of roadside assistance, free. So if you run out of gas, have a flat or the vehicle won't start they will come and get you started or tow your vehicle in. This is listed under the Riders tab on their website. There are some restrictions on the towing part.
I ride a Legend and have over 8500 km on it and have been impressed with the quality and support Qlink has provided thus far. They seem to be very serious about penetrating the US market by offering a good warranty and backing it up with parts and service.
For a company marketing against other newcomers this is a positive sign that they are willing to help their customers.

damn, wish we got that sort of support from the various dealers here in Oz (unless of course you buy a BMW or similar, I think the support is a little higher class then but of course you pay for it)

It looks like the tow "catch" is if the tow is more than 5 miles there is a charge. But if the
bike runs out of gas they will deliver some as part of the assistance, or they will fix a tire or start the bike. If you have a towing policy or motor club on your cars you may be able to add the bike to that and then the towing restriction is less of a problem.
Also seems to be limited to the US and Canada, but then I was checking the North American site. Those in other countries will have to check if it is offered there.

Allstate Motor CLub does offer a plan to cover RV's and motorcycles are listed as being covered. It is $99.95 a year and the benefit is listed as unlimited for towing and assistance. For those who travel a lot on their bike it might be worth looking into.

Here if you are member of the AA (Automobile Association) you get free breakdown, petrol etc - if you are a "plus" member (which costs an extra $55.00/year) and been a member for over 25 years there are very few limitations.
But as far as I know there are no motorcycle companies doing it
