Title: NEW MEMBER , J-Pag engine replacement
Description: any ideas ?
hitmanhelzer - April 23, 2008 12:10 AM (GMT)
Hey this is HitmanHelzer from Lawton OK. I own a 2004 Kymco Venox and love it.
My Friend just recently bought a Johnny Pag Spyder 250. As most people know, the Spyder as verticle twin cylinders, and only puts out about 20 horsies. I am trying to help my friend do an engine transplant. we have a motor off of an older Honda, i believe it is a 500cc or something like that. We want to replace the Jonny Pag motor with something that has some more power. Any way, I hope some people read this that might know about stuff like that.
Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
ride hard.

:WelcomeWave: G'day Hitman. It sounds like a good idea but I cant help you on that one, as the only Johnny Pags Ive seen so far are pictures. It should be an interesting and worth while project though. :evilgrin1:

The members who might have some information have not been here since the post for various reasons... hang in there as giving opinions is something this forum never lacks !! :lolsign:

:old: :WelcomeWave: You have to watch the frame strength. The only honda 500 multi cylinders I ever saw where in line fours and might be a little wide. Even though the tubeing might look the same the wall thickness is what it is improtant. you investigate around and see what you can find out about the frames and compare them. A inline 4 is a smoother running motor than a vetical twin but would have more horsepower. By the way that is my old stomping grounds I am from Anadarko and there use to be this cute red headed stripper named Rose (what else) that live there we kept company form time to time.

Yep, this is my baby, i recently put some saddlebags on from motodirect.com, they are some good bags, and can expand, up to 33 liters of storage space in each bag. pretty nice for only $75. i will post some pictures of the bike with the bags as soon as i get my bars on. I know that i was the one who mentioned ordering accessories from Spain, but my Father and I are going to try and make some highway bar out of 1 inch steel tubing, and i will probably just paint them black to match the frame. Also, i have got some new handle bars for my Nox, and i am going to put thos on as soon as i get my new risers in, is is going to freakin sweet. Don't worroy, i will post pictuers as soon as i am done, any way, ]
my friend with the Johnny Pag, which this origianl post is about, sold his bike and hasn't gotten anything else, he did not want to have to mess with trying to raplce the engine, even though those J-pag bikes are sweet looking, they need a v twin, or a motor off a kawasaki ninja 250, otherwise, they are junk! Yep i said it, they are junk with the original motor, no power,
