Today the wind is gusting up to 40mph and I finished my morning commute as the wind was picking up. The Legend did a good job of tracking and staying on course in these high winds. I did have to slow down to about 40mph to be safe in the areas where the wind was swirling around groves and farm buildings. All in all it was a good ride. Riding north I was doing 55mph with almost no throttle, but going south into the wind was a bit different. Going 50mph into a 40 mph wind was not to bad and the little 250 did fine on the level roads, but on the hills it lost a bit of speed, which is to be expected from this engine size. The Legend did a great job of handling a windy day. We get a quite a bit of wind here in Western Iowa and riding on windy days is nothing unusual. I was not the only rider out today, since it warmed up into the 60s.
How much does the Legend weigh ?
The Legend weighs in at 163.7 kg (360.8 pounds)
Where I live we have a reasonable of wind as well (actually they call Wellington the windy city) although I live about 50k from there. Anyway I have found my GT is not to bad in the wind although when I have cross winds of over 100k it makes for interesting riding
