Title: Mix and Match?

GinoXB - March 22, 2008 02:13 PM (GMT)
I've been really cross shopping brands, Kymco Venox, Hyosung GV250 and Vento Colt and V Thunder. I like a little from each bike, but I'm still leaning towards the Venox.

I do like the solid wheels on the Vento V Thunder, anyone think the wheels could be switched over to the Venox? Granted the Venox has a solid rear wheel, I'd like a front one to match the rear.

I also like the wider rear fender on the V Thunder, or something similar to ObXbiker's green Vento.

Sheesh I don't even have the bike yet and I'm already going nuts! :InTwoMoreWeeks:

Good choice...the Nox has been mistaken by some HD riders as a new type of HD V-Rod... :hahaha:

That would be NICE ''LOOK''....but the HD V Rod has that and I have heard some riders complain that having a solid at the front can make their bike ''squirlly'' in high winds and the Nox is a whole lot lighter !

The green bike I have ''OBnoXious'' is a custom made by the AmishCrackDealer (Fith Gear Customs..now he runs GoFastLoudly.com) and it use to be a Venox...its also a hard tail...no shocks/hard core.

Spokes are a great look...How close to salty air do you live in Florida ?

I live on a island and for me spokes are a maintence NIGHTMARE !!
Dave (AmishCrackDealer) was going to do spokes on the 'OBnoXious' Venox build but decided not to because of where I live.

But I 'think' he may have looked into it so if he does not see this thread maybe you should PM him ? He might be able to point you in the right direction.

:old: I have never had any problem with the solid rear wheel and wind. Spokes have to be maintaned and cleaned. The venox will blow around in the wind and we have plenty of that in west texas. I find that the besst thing I have done for that is change the rear sprocket and it keeps the motor pulling when riding in the wind. Any wind that would blow your rear end around is to strong to be riding the Venox in. I also have ridden solid rear wheels on Drag bikes up to 180mph with out in bad affects. I to would like to be able to mix and match with other 250 as they all have some neat things about them.

I'm about 45 minutes from the beach here in Plant City, I'm in between Tampa and Orlando.

:old: I started school in Orlando, Dad was stationed at Pinecastle AFB and we lived in Orlando. I use to swim on a beach that we would camp out on till NASA took over on it. The shoot rockets off there now. Waste of a good beach.

GinoXB - March 23, 2008 06:52 AM (GMT)
Leave it to NASA to waste good land!

I'm in a small town called Plant City, mostly strawberry fields here. Now the town is booming though.

I'm about 15 minutes from Tampa, 15 minutes from Brandon, 15 minutes from Lakeland, 45 minutes from the Clearwater/St.Pete beach and 35 minutes from Disney World.

Welcome to the group. I own a Venox as well. I have added leather saddle bags, a Memphis Shades windshield, and a pair of Kuryakan foot pegs. And last but not least the sprocket kit. Mine is a 2004 and bought it new. I have had no problems. The pegs fit a honda, and I am hoping to get the matching grips this summer. I get complements from alot of people and they cant beleive thats its a 250. Even the Harley guys like it. I have ridden with them and they are impressed that I can keep up with them. So finiding accesories can be alittle trouble, but worth the work in the in.

:old: I have small aWillie and Max bags (Slanted) the windshield is Memphis shades, There is a list here with all the foot pegs and floorboards that will fit.
There is a Tachometer made by Daytona that will work on a Venox they are
about $165 new. They use them on gocarts and they are electric work on Vtwin motors and go to 15,000 rpm. Most after market tach's do not want to work on a Vtwin or do not go high enough on the RPM.

Thanks for the info Pops, I'm furiously taking notes and what not. I'll most assuredly be mass PMing people once I make my purchase so I can find out whee all the aftermarket goodies are.
