Lucky you, I'm stuck at 19,000 km and waiting for parts.
gw555 - February 28, 2008 04:59 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I notice you had been having a bit of trouble. What year is your bike? I know that there seems to be a few around the world that appear to be "lemons" so I guess I am one of the lucky ones.

Well done gw555, 60000 and going strong is not a bad effort. Ive used your bike as a case study many times when it comes to discussing all the good points about Hyosungs in general. Its a pity though when a Hyosung achieves a new mile stone, it is let down by situations such as Serps going through. :evilgrin1:

Mine is a 2005, now with a 2007 engine.

Yes and of course the usual story you only ever hear about the ones that are giving trouble. Apparently I have acheived the highest mileage in NZ on one and apart from the two early problems I had and then the clutch cable breaking it has gone like a dream.
I do feel sorry for people like Serp who seems to have had more than his fair share of trouble.
From what I have heard talking to dealers here and others with the brand at least Hyosung seem to have sorted alot of the problems out and you hear of fewer of the "new" bikes breaking down, not that that is much consolation for someone having problems with a earlier bike

Have you had any trouble with the 2007 engine?
serp - February 28, 2008 02:13 PM (GMT)
No trouble with the new engine and it has less vibration than the original one.
I'm also not pushing this one as hard as the last one, I treated that one like a Suzuki engine.
The red line on the tach is 11,000 rpm but the 'R' model with the same engine has it at 10,500 rpm, my last engine blew up at 10,200 rpm so I've adopted a red line of 10,000 rpm with this engine. They tell me this bike has a rev limiter but I'm not going to go look for it, as a rule I stay 500 rpm away from red line on any engine.
This little engine seems rev happy and will push past 10,000 in a heart beat if I don't watch it and it's for that reason I'm trying to use a taller gear if only I could find the sprockets I need.

:old: We use to orderer sprockets with the pitch we wanted size and center bore every thing but the mounting holes then transfer drill from the original. Most machine shops can make you a inexpenseive plug to line up the centers. Sprockets unlimited might do this for you. I would make the bushing for Shipping and material. It would not amount to much. you only need about .005 clearence in the center hole.
