Just rang the importers here in little old NZ and have been told they are not going to import the 650X

They stopped importing the GT650 last year so now all we have is the GV and the GTR650 neither of which I want because I want a "upright" bike.

Thought about importing a 650X myself but am going to get into trouble with parts if anything goes wrong so looks as if I might have to start looking for some other brand.....

You don't need to go with another brand. You can get any part you need and you can actually get things the New Zealand distributor can't!

Delivery to New Zealand averages 2-4 days.

Buy a Hyosung with confidence!

The only problem is the 4 days - I use my bike every day as it is my means of transport. At the moment if something has gone wrong with my GT250, because there are so many about, the part has been "borrowed" although this has only happened twice.

The other issue is warranty ie I wont have one.

I would prefer to stay with Hyosung beacause I have had a good run with the 250 over the 55000km I have travelled on it.

The other alternative is that I keep the GT250 and "run it into the ground" which presumably will be around 100k and hopefully the importers will have changed thir mind by then as one of the reasons given for not importing is that it is a new bike and hasn't been "tried and tested" yet, which in my opinion is absolute crap and a really good way to sell bikes.

4 days is a problem !?? :huh:

I just got a mail yesterday from a guy in NZ that has been waiting 3 months for a BS part that everyone should have in stock. I'll be getting that out to him today.

The GT250 is a solid machine and with some replacement engine parts every few years depending on your usage that thing should go almost forever.

I just rebuilt my GV250 engine and it's practically a new bike...again!

I read on the NZ forum that they consider Hyosung bikes disposable. I wonder how much experience they have?

I have been riding Hyosung's almost exclusively for about 15 years and Japanese bikes for 20 years before that. I consider a Hyosung bike like the older Chevy Impalas. You can take a sledge hammer to them and they just keep going.

I have done things on Hyosungs that I have never done on a bike before. I have used Hyosung street bikes as off-road bikes, ramps, quarries everything.!

One bike (street bike) made some odd grinding noises after a day of dirt bike riding. I drove it back to town and took the gas tank off and found I had snapped the frame. I welded it together again and drove it for another 2 years!

Sure, I'm a little crazy but I wear out before the Hyosung bikes do!

Anyone who wants to come over to Korea and test a Hyosung's limits on one of my "special routes" is more than welcome. The more bikin' buddies the better!

4 days is only aproblem because as I said it is my main mode of transport ie I dont have anything else and my wife uses her car every day.

I have clocked 55000km in 17 months so as you can see I do "use" it

oh yeah Hyosungs are considered as Hyundai was when they first came here just another "piece of Japanese junk" or in Hyosungs case "another piece of Chinese shit". I have given up explaing that they are actually Korean, as I have said before wasting riding time lol.....

Well tell your internet buddies that Korean bikes are actually Japanese bikes - Not Chinese!

Daelim's technical partner is Honda and Hyosung's is (was) Suzuki. I have a lot of pictures of Hyosung bikes badged with the Hyosung and Suzuki brand name side by side if they don't believe you.

The actual average time for deliveries to NZ is 2-3 days. I say 4 to be on the safe side.

I can always overnight parts to you if you want to pay the outrageous rates. Most people have more time than money but there are a lucky few that price is no object. When I finally reach that point I'll be so old that I won't need anything! :D

I feel your pain, I've been trying to get some Ferodo brake pads for mine and while they were quick to charge my card the pads are still on back-order after more than a month. I finally called my local dealer yesterday and told him to get me some stock pads.
My second bike has bald tire and soon I'll be without a ride.

Richard I was looking at your twin disk conversion deal, sweet I may have to do that soon.
