Title: gv250 mirror fitting
Description: what size are gv250 mirror fittings
chopperfoto - August 11, 2007 09:30 PM (GMT)
have been admiring all the custom mirors on ebay, you can buy metric ones for most jap cruisers like dragstars,VN's etc or buy harely ones with a metric adaptor. will the gv250 ones be the same as the metric or are they some odd size? thanks for any info.....paul

They are standard 10mm metric. Just like all jap bikes but for Yamaha.
The only reason Yamaha are different is they use left hand thread in the left mirror mount but all the other manufacturers use right hand thread both sides.

Big Thanks for the info Pat, I will note that and put it in my owner manual, standard metric thread gives us some choice then which is very good. I will be able to look which mirrors I like, must reign in a bit now, I bought a new helmet off ebay as my old one is full of particles of crud where the liner disintegrated, am getting a new german style D.O.T certified one. also ordered a license plate frame off ebay. the UK pound is quite strong against the dollar at the moment so I was able to treat myself with some money i received for a photo i did. I want to post some fotos of my piglet soon but keep putting it off untill i get it looking just how I want it. thanks for the info anyway. have a great weekend all....cheers....Paul in sunny England !

George is right Paul, if you post a "before" picture we can watch the bike become part of you, the bike you built from the one you bought.
Good luck getting it all together.
Somewhere there is a thread about raising the carburettor needles to make starting and general engine smoothness better, I'd recomend it to you. Anything we can help you with, just shout.
I have a helmet like that, it was a really good helmet but the urathane foam in it is crumbling making it dreadfully uncomfortable. I hate to trow it out even though I never use it. I have 2 newer helmets.

I've been looking at some that have the turn signals integrated into the front...as far as before pictures of my Piglet, I started changing things the day I got it, so I always refer people to the Hyosung website - it was pure stock Piglet (for about 30 minutes before I got it home). B)

The GV250 is a great bike. You're right, some of those mirrors on ebay would look nice. This bike is just aching for some light custom touches.
When you get a chance check out my GV250 in the New Members section and throughout this forum. I own the burgundy and cream bike. I really like this bike. Hope to see what you're adding to yours. One of the things that's so great about these bikes is that there are so many accessories being made for them. When your shopping look at Richard Hyosung's site, Larry Cook and a bunch others from this forum and some like Asian Iron on the internet. They make a lot of flashy custom items for the GV250. Sorry for being so long winded, I just get excited when I talk about the GV250.
Looking forward to some pictures. We can always use more pictures of the GV250.

I did these recently :)
They didn't last long as I found them too small.
