Hey George,

Your slideshow and dedication to your dad, not to mention all the work that went into customizing that bike, was amazing! You can't compare that to a slideshow of a stock P 150 with a cheesy love song playing in the background, which IMO was just kinda silly.

Thanks Doug...

Just re-read my post and I guess it sounded a little "harsh"
(sorry)....still having "PRIDE IN WHAT YOU RIDE" is still OK .(PS: I
have serveral Kymco SUPER9'S that are also "customized")

Yeah, that's what I thought, too. There's another one that comes up under a Kymco search where the rider walks out to a standing bike, starts it up and does a few small circles in front of the camera, and then takes off. The camera just sits there looking at where he was for what seems like a very long time, then he comes back, does another donut or two, and gets off. I guess some people just like to post SOMEthing.

I wouldn't know how, but I'll admit I was looking at those inexexpensive helmet cams just yesterday in the Aerostitch catalogue with another rider.

"Home movies" have gotten a lot more technical.

I know, George, you can't possibly really believe there is any comparison between that other video and yours.

Any man or unit that served in WWII, deserves to be honored. As my Dad was a Combat Medic and POW, and a veteran myself, I think your tribute is wonderful.

I wish everyone today had even an inkling of what it took to earn those Distinguished Flying Crosses, Purple Hearts, and Bronze Stars. Moreover, I suppose I wish everyone had the appreciation.

Your ride is outstanding.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW MAAAAAAAAAAAAN! Why'd you have to
show me that George? Ya got me droolin' over here!

With my eyes closed, I can see every bit of that road too! We used
to come down (now tell me if I'm wrong here.....) from Virginia on S-
168, which switched to S-158, ..... over the Wright Brothers
Memorial Bridge, past the Hummer Dealer on the right, then Wally
World on the right just after that, the Visitor's Center on the
right again, then of course the tourist areas, yadda, yadda,
yadda,..... then took a left onto S-12 heading past Bodie Light on
the right, keep going, keep going..... then you make it to Hatteras
Island, with the Hatteras Light on the left..... then take the 40-45
minute Ferry ride to Ocracoke Island. Disembark from the Ferry, and
finally, turn right onto S-12 to get to the village of Ocracoke. My
wife and I spent our 25th Wedding Anniversary at "The Castle" B&B on
Silver Lake. When you hit Silver Lake on S-12, you take a left, and
it's on the left hand side. If nothing else, ya gotta stop in and
check out the restoration they had finished about five years ago,
and look at all of the woodwork. It'll knock your socks off! Well
worth the stay!

Like you said, no malls, but quite a few quaint little shops along
the way. Some of the best seafood eatin' I've ever had too! Couple
of good restaurants there. Check 'em out!

"Blackbeard was a happy camper, thinking about his upcoming ride
this Sunday in the San Antonio Spring Fling, when he received a
message from George about the Ride To Ocracoke..... aaaaaand
depression set in.....!"

LOL!

George, you and your group have a Great and SAFE ride down there,
and take plenty of sunblock with you! Take a lotta pics, cause I
gotta live vicariously through you on this trip! :)

Cheers!

BB

P.S. Tell the ghosts of my mates, Blackbeard says "Ahoy"!

P.S.S. II, The Sequel: I forgot to mention yesterday, but my
favorite WWII Heavy Bomber was the B-17, and the B-25 was my
favorite Medium Bomber, especially the versions B-25G and B-25H.
Both of these versions had a 75mm cannon in the nose, in addition to
twin 50 cals (B-25G) in the nose, while the B-25H had a 75mm cannon
in the nose, along with four 50 cals in the nose, and four 50 cals
(2 on each side) on the sides of the cockpit. One meeeeean flyin'
machine, used for ground and ship strafing runs.

That concludes todays history lesson
