Title: Expanded range of genuine accessories
Description: What else can you sell me Hyosung?

patsparks - May 21, 2006 09:19 AM (GMT)
Well, I have the windscreen, I have the backrest I have the rear carrier rack and I have even adapted the GV250 footboards to my GV650 so is my bike finished, no way.

When is Hyosung going to expand the range of genuine goodies I can get to dress up my GV650? I'd love to see: -

A range of hard and soft panniers designed for the GV650.
A removable box designed to fit the carrier.
A choice of windscreens to suit the rider looking for more wind protection.
A front fender rear extension to reduce stone damage and add chrome.
An alternative instrument cluster with tachometer included.
wider hand grips for us fat handed Aussies and Yanks.
Adjustable front brake lever. :D
Big footboards to suit the GV650. :)
An optional metal radiator surround or maybe a standard one.
Rubber covered rear foot pegs or footboards.
Rear foot peg mounts that are lower and further forward.
Seat lock.
Helmet lock.
Solo seat.
Hyosung clothing, jackets, shirts, protective gear, patches. (Where would you get the fabric?)
Hyosung branded colour matched helmets. (How hard can that be HJC?)
Hyosung key rings :) pens posters watches etc.

I'm proud to ride a Hyosung and I want the world to know what I ride. Give me the chance to do this with a range of merchandise and clothing that follows me when I’m off the bike.

I put a smilie face where progress has been made. What next Hyosung?

Aquila_The_Hun - May 21, 2006 01:38 PM (GMT)
Nice list Pat! :)

I'd like another version of the engine guards (good if they can use the Korean Cop ones).

Also, a centrestand (which I believe is in the works).

I've heard a number of people complain about the chromed plastic, so perhaps offer metal versions as an accessory... Yamaha does that and it works for them!

obxbiker - May 21, 2006 03:08 PM (GMT)
Is there a contact at Hyosung like Joe Wofford at KYM ?

Aquila_The_Hun - May 21, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
When we get enough responses (for this and other things), i'll be sending this direct to the Australasian rep at Hyosung Korea! Martin's spoken to her before.

Aquila_The_Hun - July 24, 2006 05:08 PM (GMT)
We can now add:

* muffler
* footboards

to the GV650 list.

Fresnomotorsports - July 25, 2006 04:23 AM (GMT)
I just uncrated 4 GV650's last week, one of which has an adjustable brake lever!

Looks like someone out there is listening.

:D

obxbiker - July 25, 2006 04:33 AM (GMT)
Really ? Thats great as all bikes should have that....

PS...sent you a PM..do you have notification on ?

Thanks for that post. Richard Jordan has had adjustable brake levers on his site for a few weeks now. I wasn't sure if they are for the GT range and happen to fit, good to hear they are on the GV. I have to admit it was in one of the reviews that Hyo AU site has scanned that I first saw that they thought it needed adjustable brake lever. I'll be getting one, (short fingers) just thinking what else to get.

Did it have the tear drop mirrors too? I hear they are fitted to the new model.

Hyosung were pretty fast! I dropped by my dealer a few weeks ago, and already saw they had adjustable levers on both the GV & GT 650's!

Hi Everyone!
It's been a while. Been out riding my baby!
Pat, which windshield did you get? The one I have sucks big time. It's Hyosung - Avitar. It's more like a wind deflector which isn't deflecting! I'm 5.9. I'm a good head and a half above it. I get pretty beaten by the wind.

i agree with ya aboutbolts/screws covers. The ones they had for the larger sunken screws/bolts vibrated off the very first time I had her out!
Center stand definitely
Better engine guards. I have highway pegs but thy're too high.
Saddle bags/panniers
Higher quality chrome!! Jez, the bolts/screws and spring have rust. How in the heck do you remove rust in between the spring?

obxbiker - July 27, 2006 03:44 AM (GMT)
Hey ...there has been a couple alternative shields posted on different threads...

Aquila_The_Hun - July 27, 2006 12:11 PM (GMT)
Hi Charlotte! :)

We got members with two different types of Givi screens... both have complimented the performance of the screens! So you know they'll be good whichever you go for...

Givi A602 screen HERE!

Givi A620 screen HERE! (You'll need to scroll down till you see the pics).

Hope that helps! :)

Best way to get rid of rust inside the spring is use lots of wax before it comes. Once you have it you can pull a cloth covered in fine grade metal polish through the spring coils to clean off any rust then use the same method to get lots of wax in there.

Hey I'm a midget and happy with the screen from Hyosung. The only non Hyosung accessory I have on my bike is the panniers. I'm good with the Hyo screen, I find it a lot better than the one I had on my CX500 which directed a strong wind blast right at my neck that made me feel sick.

Okay, being the newbie to all of this..wax? Whay kind of wax? Do you put it on the chrome?? I told ya I'm a newbie! lol  Thank you for the links I'll check it out.

patsparks - July 28, 2006 04:23 AM (GMT)
Wax the whole bike, the wheels the chrome the aluminium the paint everything. Use a good automotive wax first time and then do it again with auto wax so you have 2 coats. Maintain the shine by using furniture polish like Mr Sheen or Pledge after EVERY wash and wax with car wax each year. Avoid using water to clean the bike by cleaning it after every ride with window cleaner then furniture polish.

DO NOT WAX THE BRAKE DISCS OR TYRE TREAD UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

............ VERY IMPORTANT> NO WAX ON THE BRAKES!!! <VERY IMPORTANT ...............

I had a look at Pledge today at Coles. I thought what ever you use needed to be a wax based product, but on the back of the bottle of Pledge it actually states that it is wax-free.

Is this ok, or am I looking at the wring bottle of Pledge? I also noticed there were probably 3-4 different types of Pledge. Does it matter which one?

Cheers
dean :D

Another thing.... what can i use on the actual seat, without making it all slippery?

obxbiker - September 6, 2006 05:52 AM (GMT)
WELCOME to the site HOMER (dean) !!!!

I've never used pledge but serveral here swear by it....I use the T-9 as I live at the beach with a LOT of salt in the air.

Homer....how about starting a post on the "WELCOME NEW MEMBERS" board, tell use a little or a lot about yourself.

It's a good way to get to know each other.

I use ARMOUR-ALL, but put a gell pad on top of that...

patsparks - September 6, 2006 09:00 AM (GMT)
Armour-all here too but I have a sheepskin seat cover and I don't mind a slippery seat anyway.

I use Mr Sheen on my paint and chrome, don't know if wax is so important as the protection of silicones.

The Mr Sheen range contains a unique blend of silicones, waxes and solvents that work to provide easy cleaning and polishing to help deliver a lasting protective shine.

In 1969 British company Reckitt & Colman acquired Samuel Taylor Pty Ltd. Mr Sheen was quick to spread it’s wings after the acquisition, being launched soon after in the United Kingdom and South Africa in the early 1970’s and more recently in New Zealand, Argentina, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Jamaica and Kenya.

I must add if you want better protection and particularly if you live with a salt laden atmosphere T9 would be the way to go.

Aquila_The_Hun - September 6, 2006 01:14 PM (GMT)
A big welcome :welcomespin: to the site there Dean! Glad you could make it! :)

Do you have a Hyosung (or Kymco) or are you considering?

Anyway, welcome to the site once more! :) If you need anything don't hesitate to ask! ^_^

Homer - September 7, 2006 12:43 AM (GMT)
Hey guys!

thanks for the welcomes and replies :D

I'll post a welcome msg after this one.

So is T-9 a type of Pledge?

Thanks
dean

T9 or products like it can be had at the better automotive parts sellers and marine dealers.
