Title: Venox chin spoiler -
Description: possible prototype at FGC
AmishCrackDealer - December 25, 2006 06:07 PM (GMT)
The chin spoiler wont be for this bike, wont fit with the style. But I know there was some request for one so I thought I'd play around a little - see what I could come up with. This one is notched for the front pipe - and its made of metal (galvanized steel right now - will likely be made out of plain sheet metal if it gets put into production. - maybe chromed??? With it being so close to an exposed exhaust pipe - it cant be made of fiberglass (would quickly melt or catch fire - niether is good) and even made of metal - I question if the paint would stick with the heat from the front pipe. So I am thinking a metal chin spoiler with a chrome finish or possible a black powdercoating... it would go well with any color Venox...
I have to make the mounting holes, but it will be very vey cool. I will take pictures once its mounted and primered.
It will mount to the same area that the crashbars mount to - pics will come soon :)

The way the front exhaust pipe comes out has always been my concern....
I at one point got a "chin spoiler" made for a HD with out first considering that pipe... it was plastic so I never used because of the :flamethrow: heat !!!

exactly
I can make a fibeglass one for the GVs, but the head pipe for the venox isnt covered so the heat would be very intense for plastic or paint. I am heading back to the shop after lunch so I can finish mounting it and clean it up a bit. I also want to finish the pipe adaptor for the Venox while I'm there too.
After lunch :P

While messing with this one I just made - I came up with a kille rnew design for one. I will have to wait for the parts-supply houses to open again tomorrow, but this new one I am working on will actually hide the front pipe if I can make it right. It will basiclly cover the front of the bike and have screenign to allow air over the motor and still be scoop-styled so it forces air over the radiator.
heheh - stay tuned...

Probably not on this one... Its not real high on the priority list rigth now - I just had soem free tiem to play around with some ideas...
Priorities right now are:

GV650 Drag pipes into production
Venox Exhaust system into production
Saddlebag brackets for GV650
Qlink Exhaust system into production
More merchandise for FGC promotions - keyfobs, tshirts, stickers, etc.
theres more to do than this - its just this is taking my primary attention right now...
:)
2007 is going to be our year!!! - I'll tell ya what - just to add to the party count at OBX bike week - for all of our PIWYR registered members who attend - I'll give a free FGC tshirt or key fob (depending on whats left...) :) :) :)

Its gonna be mostly a harley event anyway - we're definately gonna be outsiders - even more so if we all cruise around on rented scooters (thats goona be so much fun - thumbing our noses at teh harley guys - hahaha) anyway... a booth means youhave to man it and stand around by it all the time and secure a site for it and secure it an night - its not fun....
This one is gonna be fun!!!

OK....
FYI:
The event is sponsered by HD as they are the only dealer with-in two hours.
And they just opened up last year right across the bridge on the mainland.
About 50-60% of the riders will be on HD's.Will be a great mix of all types !!
AmishCrackDealer - January 10, 2007 02:54 PM (GMT)
well - we know there will be a group of venox owners... hahah and me on a scooter - hahahah

not having any luck finding mold-makers who can take on the project and stamp them out. Dennis still has teh GV650 one and isnt having any luck in the usual places or known contacts.
Not sure what we can do at this point...
