Title: IMPORTANT UPDATE !!!!
Description: Dave's got the VENOX to work on !!!!

obxbiker - December 9, 2006 06:57 PM (GMT)
Well, Dave and his wife and dog made here to the Outer BanX's of N.C. They drove straight through after leaving Mobile AL. at about 2:00 pm yesterday arriving at the beach about 9:00 am.

Dave is just like he appears on the forum....and fortunatly his wife and dog seems to be very understanding and patient. :hahaha:

He seemed to really like my yellow Venox (I will let him tell you about that) but the discussion and excitment was what he will be doing to the black Venox. We talked and talked over the possibilitys and already had most of the same ideas as to what will be done.

As an overview I can say you will never be able to tell what the bike started out as. Some of the things talked about will be avaliable on his web site as a free download to all venox owners. Others will done as part of the business plan to help make FITH GEAR CUSTOMS successful.

EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE BUT HERE IS SOME OF WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT.

OVER ALL HE WILL BE GOING FOR AN "OLD SCHOOL" :old: LOOK.
(I'm sure I'll miss somethings but here:)

WHEELS AND TIRES
He will try and find a "solid wheel" for the front so it will match the back.
Rims will be painted black with red trim.
Tires will be "whitewalls"
CLICK HERE to see how WHITEWALLS will be done.
(installing the new sprocket ? )

SEAT
Solo and lowered as much as possible.

FLOORBOARDS
Dave thinks something from a Honda Shadow should work, if not he will come up with something.

BODY PANELS
Less is more,
Eliminating chrome under tank panels. Will make for a sleeker front & side profile.
Eliminate side panels where possible to show more frame.

FRONT END
New center mount headlight
Changes to forks but not nailed down

REAR END
Eliminate whats there and install:
"Tractor " fender
Cats eye rear light on top of fender
New smaller sleeker LED turn signals
Side mount license (?)

COLOR
Flat or Satin black
With red pinstripes

HANDLE BARS
New "layed back" risers
Low profile "ape hangers"

FITH GEARS, OBX's "old school look.

Dave, the Wife and Dog left here at 12:00pm and is going to drive (maybe) staight back. I know everyone wishes him a safe trip.

The bike will be coming back in the spring (APRIL ?) and hopefully they will be able to take some vacation time and spend it at the beach house (before memorial day rentals start).

I know that Dave and I are EXCITED as to the possibilitys...ARE YOU ??

What ever is done or not done will be up to Dave...

He is the "artist", all I am doing is supplying the canvas.

(I'm "Theo" to Dave's "Vincent van Gogh")

AmishCrackDealer - December 10, 2006 07:23 PM (GMT)
Wow yesterday was a long day...
I woke up Friday morning at 6AM - went to work. Left work at 12 - gathered the traveling crew and headed out at 2PM (Friday afternoon) - took our time - stopped about every hour or so to stretch our legs and prevent boredom/fatigue. Got to OBXland around 9AM Saturday and met up with George. (Hes a cool guy yall - we talked for hours - we coulda talked for days!) We loaded the bike up and left OBX at 12 (Saturday) and drove back to Mobile, Alabama. Got in around 3 AM Sunday(Did better time - the crew couldn't hang so I was really able to hammer down).

I was up for 46 hours - drove for 35 of them. It was a long day.

I slept until 12 Sunday morning. - and I am fully charged about this bike.

I have some great tricks up my sleeve - haven't even shared with George yet - bwhahaha - but trust me guys - its going to look very very cool.

I have some starting pictures - how the bike looked when I unloaded it. Will have more pics as I go. Am going to try to put together a build-up book with pictures - sort of a nice "see what we did" kind of thing.

I have a few sets of GV650 pipes to finish up first, I need to install my taillight on my GV650 so I can ride it legally again - heheh - and then I will hit the venox exhaust. My plan is to make asimple bolt-on replacement selection. I figure if people can do their own install - they'll feel better about buying a system. Thats my theory behind all the exhausts - if you can just buy it and install it - there are no "other expenses". Immediate satisfaction and all.

Well - I am going into the shop this afternoon to try and finish my shop bike and take some basic notes on the Venox. I have some various pegs and mounts - so I am going to try and see what fits or is adaptable to the Venox pegs. I'll let you all know what I find out.

Thanks again George!!!! Cant say it enough!!!! And it was very nice meeting you in person.
(Hey Murs - I got a pic with him!!!)

AmishCrackDealer - December 11, 2006 01:48 PM (GMT)
I already posted about the pegs list for other models...

I will also try to get this on my website if I can find the time today :) busy busy busy

Murs - December 11, 2006 04:25 PM (GMT)
Aren't you forgetting to post "something"?

AmishCrackDealer - December 11, 2006 04:29 PM (GMT)
haha - some updated changes already...

Im building some custom pegs/floorboards for the nox. I have the paint already - will need to get the right clearcoat. The cateye taillight is not in the cards - wont look right - but I already have a better idea. I am thinking about looking into eliminating the chrome shocks on the sides of the bike... hehehe - top secret there ;) . The lower fork tubes will be painted, i am hoping I can have some fork extensions made - simple bolt ons to the stock forks. A lot depends on availability of cables, but I think I can develop a parts list as I go so I can share the info with everyone. I will take some progress pictures, but the final reveal will not be online until the happy owner sees it first!!!
Sorry George - wont be in pics either - final reveal will be in person!!!

AmishCrackDealer - December 11, 2006 04:31 PM (GMT)
heheh - that will be in its own thread - have to wait until i get the pics back. I used a disposable camera and the film is being transfered onto a CD - should be Thursday...

The world will finally see OBX!!!
