That's just wrong! I wonder if Kymco approves of this kind of deception? Besides, who in their right mind would even consider $4,900ish for a 250? I have a hard enough time accepting $4300!
They must really think the buying public are a bunch of morons. That really flames my ass!!
Murs - May 13, 2006 08:02 PM (GMT)
The first dealer I talked to wanted $5200 out the door.

For us internationals can you please give some more detail, like what is the recommended price and does it include registration etc or just the bike?
Here the RRP for a GV250 is around $6600AU +ORC which is $5099US!!
obxbiker - May 14, 2006 04:02 AM (GMT)
it was $3,999msr then was raised to $4,299msr [Manufactors Suggested Retail]
which does not include all the "add on's" ...dealer prep [bullshit...SORRY had
to sneeze]
| QUOTE |
| *Price, if shown, is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) and does not include government fees, taxes, dealer vehicle freight/preparation, dealer document preparation charges or any finance charges (if applicable). MSRP and/or final actual sales price will vary depending on options or accessories selected. |
registration is seperate, done with the state you live in..[some states you have to pay sales tax at dealer others you pay at registration].
Sooo...in this context they are saying the M.S.R. is higher then it really is [LYING]...but this is on the "wrong" coast, so who cares...???

It's now gone down (due to a "Birthday Sale") to AU$5999 + ORC (US$4635 + ORC)
BUT!
You can get a GV250 in the US for MSRP US$3499 + ORC (AU$4528 + ORC)!!!!!
patsparks - May 14, 2006 05:43 PM (GMT)
And last time I looked South Korea is a lot closer to Australia than the USA.
obxbiker - May 14, 2006 06:09 PM (GMT)
butt we do not have THE GREAT BARRIER REEF.......just BBMW
Y2J - May 16, 2006 07:49 AM (GMT)
We do, however, have a weaker dollar, and a smaller market. :(
patsparks - May 17, 2006 03:26 AM (GMT)
But even with the weaker dollar corected for we pay over $1000 MORE!!!! and the smaller maket doesn't explain a 25% higher price. I guess it includes a 10% GST but still someone is bumping up the price. Much like the parts prices I suspect.
Aquila_The_Hun - May 17, 2006 08:46 AM (GMT)
Not to mention gear prices as well... last time I looked we pay between 1/3 to 1/2 of the price more for Alpinestars and Joe Rocket gear than the prices in the US... and that's even if we include shipping from the US to here!!!!!
Murs - May 17, 2006 11:23 PM (GMT)
Are you trying to tell us we should stop complaining? ;)
patsparks - May 17, 2006 11:46 PM (GMT)
No, if you stop we have to stop. :(
Where would we be then? Whinge away, but don't be surprised if we on this side of the ditch whinge louder. :o
Good thing this world is shrinking thanks to wonderful people like
Richard Jordan. :D
