Has anyone had experience with the Venox windshield? It seem to be quite large on the photo advertising the product. Does anyone have a smaller solution?

I personally like the first two below, but some people don't, so you have to go with what you like I guess!
Hope this helps!

How To Buy A Windshield That Fits

Most riders like to be able to see over their windshields. But in order to do this and still get ample protection, the windshield must reach up between the tip and the bridge of a riders nose. If it doesn't, a rider will experience mild to severe buffeting.

Many riders like looking through their windshields, but what they often fail to account for is rain. When it rains everyone has to look over the top of the windshield in order to see clearly. When choosing a windshield it's vital a rider chooses one that isn't so high that he or she can't comfortably extend themselves to see up over the top of the windshield.

Looks ARE inportant...but picking out one that fits is the most important issue.

This is a photo of my Black Venox from two years ago on it's first birthday.
It has a traditional "tombstone style" shield from National Cycle.
(it's now completly different...and hopfully will be changing again to a "bobber" style)

Here is my yellow..it's now one year old !!! It has a series of systems. The windsield is from Memphis Shades with the SAENG WING. It also has Baker Air Wings on the side.
The SAENG WING and the BAKER AIR WINGS are adjustable so you can control the air deppending on the weather.

In recap between the two styles....go with something that does not stand straight up. They will push into the wind and if your riding into a strong headwind they will slow you down (it's a 250cc not a 1250cc....). Go for one that slopes back, that will glide through a headwind.

The Venox also has issues on mounting the shield. On a four point system the two lower mounts attach to the fork, but the venox has a side mount headlight wich "can" be in the way. This should not be an issue with a universal two mount system.

I just got a windshield installed on my Venox today. I chose the Memphis Shades Classic Deuce.

Memphis Shades Classic Deuce like Murs'. Notice it has room for driving lights. It adds to the custom look. Fits like it was made for the Venox........JW

Interesting topic. On my Ninja, on which I lean a little forward from "standard" position (a la Bonnevilles or Nighthawks), I really like the stock windshield, because I get a little protection to maybe mid-chest, and my head is in a more or less constant (non turbulent) stream. It's great for summer in Oklahoma. It is true there is some equalization of forward force from the lean, and backwards force from the wind.

OTOH, on a standard bike like my CB750 Nighthawk or a Bonneville of late, where I sit like at a desk (very comfortable at low speeds), I have to hold on for dear life on the highway because of the wind, and am constantly flexing my (well-concealed) six-pack abs and popeye-wannabe arms. I understand some HD Sportsters with forward pegs are even worse without a shield. Hence the need for (taller?) windshields. For winter I have a bigger "touring" shield on my Ninja, covering my hands somewhat and coming up to a bit below my chin unless I lean down under it. Much warmer, but no good for summer.

The best height, methinks, should consider the sitting position (including legs, arms, back), how far forward the shield is from the rider, and weather. My Ninja's "Touring Shield" that I loved so much in winter had me sweating like crazy in summer, and was promptly removed.

I get the impression the Venox doesn't need a shield as much as a standard or feet-way-forward cruiser. My impression without any experimentation (yet) is I'd rather go with one like Murs than the larger tombstone from Kymco, but my experience with cruisers is pretty limited so I don't know.

Just some thoughts.

Sounds like experience helps in windshield selection. I've only tried a couple of styles on my Venox. Both helped keep pressure and debris off the body. Height definitely affects the turbulence issue. I too have shed the shield in summers...

Very true about the bigger FLATTER FATTER shield from Kymco. As to summer vs. winter thats why I went with the memphis shade BLADERUNNER shorter shield with this sportbike wing assc. as all I have to do is adjust the wing for more air during the summer or close it during the winter and do not have to take the shield on and off.

Pops VENOX with Bladerunner

Pops has got the same shield now and is I think getting the wing.
The wing...

SAENG accessories, air management systems

:old: The wing looks so cool and I need that little bit. I like the Blade runner
alll over the tombstone style from Kymco and I get better hand coverage. Just for once in my life I am too tall. Never happened to me before.

I now have the experience of the new maxi shield that came with my Vulcan900LT and there are MAJOR differences in shields.
My Memphis Shades C Deuce slants the same as the forks, I liked the look. It gives it more of a ferring affect. While the shield on the Vulcan is more vertical than the forks and I can't see over it without stretching.
On the Venox I get good torso protection with a head on wind stream. My beard blows straight back, sort of parting on my chin... On the Vulcan I feel no wind from the front and a big updraft coming around the sides of the tank. This blows my beard up my nose and into my eyes.... The only solution I can see is to chop the Vulcan shield, find another Memphis shades shield or cut the beard, and that's not gonna happen, especially going into winter!
Note... This is a problem I get with the 1/2 helmet from HJC. I don't have this issue with the full face helmet. :crap:

I also have the classic deuce. I have rode with it about year. And I finally got it where I want it. I have moved it up a little. It was just to low. and the wind blast coming off of it was hitting me right in the face. Making it hard to see with googles. Now I have no troubles.
