Uncertain Terms
Advisor: The deputy-like horse in the herd. Advises the Emperor and is in second command. He may have one mare.
Healer: The doctor of the herd. Not allowed a mate, but when they resign or become old enough to retire, they may have a mate.
Couples: Horses with mates.
Bachelors and Maidens: Horses without a mate.
Tikes and Flickas: Colts and fillies, respectively.
The Decrees
~ All must follow the Emperor's orders.
~ The Emperor may modify anyone's rank in any way if he sees fit.
~ Those that are not Advisor or Beta must ask the Emperor before breeding.
~ The Emperor is allowed 4+ mares, the Advisor one (for the purpose of not tying him up), and the Beta three. All others are allowed one mare, except the Healer.
~ Mares may only breed to their "masters," and may not leave without master's consent.
~ Foals, mares and elders must be protected, regardless of whether they are related.
~ If a mare is forcebred to a stallion other than her master, the stallion is exiled and the foal either killed or kept, if it is related to a otherwise good stallion. If the mare agrees, the whole family is exiled.
~ If the Emperor dies without a heir, then the heiress's mate shall take his place, with the heiress replacing the Empress, putting the Empress as an elder. If there are no foals, then the Beta takes the rank. The Advisor becomes beta and his heir becomes the new Advisor.
~ If the Emperor is away, then the Empress and Advisor are in charge.
~ Basic ranks go as follows: Emperor and Empress, Advisor and mate, Beta and mate, Healer, Healer's apprentice, General and mate, Soldiers, Apprentices, Elders, Dames, Titans, and Captives.
