Title: I Want A Protector
Mystery - January 21, 2008 10:38 PM (GMT)

"I don't know about this Tundra."
"Why not?"
"Because, you could very well be raped."
"Oh jeez, rape. I won't, ok?"
"You don't know that."
"Well with you by me, I'm sure they won't even come close." I rolled my eyes at the wallaby hopping along beside me. My shining white coat sprinkeld with some dots matched the albino animal named Derek. My ears flipped back as we walked through the Oasis. Tail whipping at my hind legs as head bobbed lightly with my steps. Eyes of bright blue gazed about the barren land. Not another horse in sight, my hopes dampened.
"You are a very silly mare." He commented, getting a bit tired of walking. Stopping, he looked around with his red tinted eyes. "You'll find someone some day and approved by me." He got a shake of the head by Tundra. His tail waving back and forth as he sat back on his haunches. Quite kangaroo like, jut a few times smaller. Sighing, he put his paw on her leg and looked up at her with a smile. Getting a smile back, he took looked around the place. A bit glad that there were no stallions coming toward them yet.[[a lot of writer's block.]]

((OOC: My new stallion (Charmant) is /definitely/ interested, but there's some complications: He's light, he's not been accepted into a herd yet, and he has some issues with being sort of a "ladies man". But all he needs is a nice mare to change his mind.
So if you think you're interested in that and that you can wait, I'd be happy to stop by as soon as I can!
However, I can understand if you wouldn't want to save yourself for him if another stallion comes along.))
Mystery - January 21, 2008 11:21 PM (GMT)
ooc; Tundra would be delighted to be with a stallion like Charmant. Don't worry, Tundra is more light/neutral then dark. She doesn't particularly like darks any way. So if you want, you may go ahead and have Charmant come charm Tundra. XD

((OOC: lol, I'll bring him, but keep in mind, he's still sort of a wanderer until he gets accepted into the Aurora Mountains. :D ))
Mystery - January 21, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
ooc; That is fine. She won't want to go anywhere with him for a while and Derek possibly won't allow it...

A tall, galliant stallion trotted happily into the oasis.
"Hello, there," he muttered to himself, looking out among the mares.
"Ah, this is the place for me!" he said, sighing happily.
"Look at all of these beauties! Now, how to choose one?"He peered closer and began to find the small flaws of each lonely mare.
"No. No, not that one. She won't do. Ah!" He finally had to stop on one white mare who stood towards the back of the crowd by herself.
"Perfect!"He walked towards her with his usual charming smile plastered to his face.
"Why, hello, there, my beauty," he greeted her.
"My name is Charmant. It would please me so to learn of your calling." His eyes sparkled as he pulled himself up to his full height.
For the first time, he noticed the small, strange-looking creature at her feet.
"Um, hello to you, too," he greeted the . . . thing.
"And just what might you be?"
Mystery - January 21, 2008 11:45 PM (GMT)
I watched as the cremello stallion approached me. Obviously he hadn't noticed Derek standing beside me. Frowning, I wanted to inch back away from the stallion. My shy and skittish ways ebbing at my eyes. Smiling softly, I nodded my head lightly. "Hello Charmant. I am-" I was cut off by Derek.
"Charmant huh? It's a pleasure to meet you. I am Derek and this is Tundra." He scowled and spoke sternly to the stallion. Though Charmant was a heck of a lot taller then him, he wouldn't let that be a barrier. If this stallion was going to be mean to Tundra, Derek was going to make sure that didn't happen. "And for your info, I'm an Albino Wallaby." He snapped with a frown on his face.
I rolled my eyes, Derek was being completely rude. "Derek, that isn't a way to greet someone." I glared at the Wallaby before looking back at Charmant. My baby blue eyes glistening. "Sorry about that, but yes my name is Tundra." I didn't trust the stallion and would only let him know my name. I didn't like trusting people and he had a sort of air about him that made him seem like a player.

[align=center]I let my right hoof come forward slightly and I bowed so low that I was almost at the same level as the insane albino wallaby. "Il est très agréable de vous rencontrer, ma beauté," he said as he straightened himself again. "And might I say that Tundra is a very lovely name, my dear."
He scrunched his nose ever so slightly as he looked down to the wallaby and added, "And you, too, good sir. It's nice to meet you as well." He smiled as he looked again at Tundra.
Translation:
1. It's very nice to meet you, my beauty.
((OOC: Sorry it's short, but I gotta go. I'll reply again tomorrow afternoon. :P ))
Mystery - January 22, 2008 01:52 PM (GMT)
My own head curled to my chest and went no lower. Returning his bow, I smiled cutely at him. "Thank you Charmant." I spoke softly as I watched him speak to Derek and then look back at me. My tail flickered back and forth, my eyes never leaving the white stallion standing before me. I wasn't exactly excited to meet a stallion, but he was charming and handsome. My eyes turned to Derek and scowled, waiting to see what he would do next.
"My pleasure." He said in a growl. Red eyes looking from stallion to Tundra and back. He didn't trust this stallion at all. Well, he didn't trust any stallion near Tundra. And how close this stallion had gotten was only because Tundra seemed to have taken a liking to him. His eyes looked at Tundra's scowling face and he smiled back. Turning his head, he smiled politely. "So what brings you here, Charmant?" A look of concern flickered across his face.
W Smack - January 22, 2008 09:25 PM (GMT)
"Well, frankly I've come here for a little company. You see I'm /terribly/ lonely - just wandering around by myself with no place to live aqnd no mare to love." He blinked up at Tundra innocently, his hazel eyes sparkling. He raised his eyebrows and asked charmingly, "And what is such a beautiful mare like /you/ doing here?" He was starting to get a little upset with this strange rat-like creature. Why was he so protective over this poor mare? She was old enough to take care of herself! He just had this feeling that if he could get rid of her little "friend", here, /then/ he could have some /real/ fun! "N'ayez jamais j'ai rencontré une si belle femme comme vous-même!" He paused, looking down at Derek again and then added, "Maintenant si seulement je peux me débarrasser de vous le copain étrange, ici."
Translation:
1. Never have I met such a beautiful woman as yourself!
2. Now if only I can get rid of you strange mate, here.
Mystery - January 26, 2008 03:23 PM (GMT)
Derek did not approve when the stallion said he had no home. He did not want Tundra wandering around unsafe territory with a stallion that she couldn't trust. No matter how much Charmant commented about Tundra's beauty, Derek could see behind the charming wall of his looks and voice. "She is traveling with me, searching for a new home and only happened to stop here for a rest." He said, his voice tensing as his red eyes stared up at Charmant. He wasn't afraid of the white stallion and he wasn't going to let himself be stomped all over.
I smiled softly and then it was gone when Derek spoke. I didn't like his rough tone and it was starting to worry me. When he usually got that tone, it usually led to yelling meaning he was going to tell Charmant to go away and never see me again. I didn't want that to happen, but if I tried to intervene, I would only get yelled at. And I did not like to get yelled at, at all. So I glanced at Derek then back at Charmant. My face looked a little puzzled at his strange language. "Charmant, so sorry, but I don't speak French." Well, I did know it was French because every one else did and I didn't.
W Smack - January 26, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
"Well, that's fine, my dear. It just happens to be my native tongue." He winked at her playfully as his eyes sparkled and added, "You know, it is the language of love, some say." Now, he down-right glared at the wallaby at their feet. "Excuse me?" he asked. The way he said it made it sound as polite as possible, but he couldn't help but add a hint of venom at the end. She smiled again up to Tundra. "I'm sure that such a capable mare doesn't need a chaperone such as yourself. I think she can make descisions on her own." He paused before adding, "You don't believe your little friend, do you, Tundra? You don't think I'm trouble, right?" He blinked up at her innocently with his soft, hazel eyes.
Mystery - January 26, 2008 03:50 PM (GMT)
"Language of love, I've heard from many that is. It does sound very seducing." I spoke in a soft voice at Charmant, my eyes batted many times as I smiled lightly. Then it all went away as he spoke harshly at Derek and then opposed that dreadful question on me. Looking away from the two males, I frowned. I could hear Derek being silent at the moment and knew that he had left this to me now. I didn't, couldn't, look back at Charmant. "He's more then a friend, he's more like my father." I whispered quietly as my voice trembled. "I don't believe him, but I don't exactly trust you either. I don't trust anyone." Tears welled in my eyes as I tried not to let them roll.
"Look what you did now." Derek snapped as he watched a tear hit the grass. The innocent look on the stallion's face was not convincing at all in any way. Frowning, he stroked Tundra's knee softly once before turning his stern glare back at the stallion. "Because of stallions like you, she was ruined. Destroyed." He shot at Charment with an increasing glare. "I would have let her be with you, but how you're turning out to be; you're just like every other stallion out there." Derek's voice was a snarl now as his small fists clenched.
W Smack - January 26, 2008 04:06 PM (GMT)
"Stallions like me?" he protested. "And what exactly is that supposed to mean?" With a slightly softer voice, he spoke to Tundra. "I'm sorry," he muttered. He wasn't even sure if he meant it, but it just seemed like the right thing to say. He wasn't used to saying it, either. He was used to always believing that he was right - and that mean that he had to make no appologies. "What exactly happened?" he asked. He had been asking Tundra, but he figured that the wallaby would answer for her, so he guided his eyes down to the creature as he waited for a response. He remembered his own difficult past love-life. But he wasn't going to speak of this now.
sassaboo - January 26, 2008 07:22 PM (GMT)
((Um, no offense, but unless Derek is actually an albino kangaroo, it'd be a bit difficult for him to pet Tundra's shoulder, wallaby's are kinda on the small side xD))
Mystery - January 26, 2008 10:21 PM (GMT)
ooc; She isn't that tall though. But yeah considering he is a Wallaby, I'll change it. Thanks for telling me. :]
bic;
"You hear me. Stallions like you. The ones that toy with mare's hearts and just want them to love you just so you can have attention, be in the spot light. Face it, I can see that your an attention whore." Derek snapped, letting his fists clench tighter. A frown creased his lips as Charmant apologized. Then his frowned turned to a sneer. Like anyone who said sorry to Tundra was actually. He had heard it so many times, so many times said to Tundra that the mare didn't even flicker her eyes toward the stallion.
Turning my face even farther away, I didn't want to speak of it. My body felt like collapsing. I thought that Charmant would be a stallion that wouldn't bring up ugly memories. But Derek was right, he was like every other stallion. Each stallion she crossed brought up that horrible moment in her life. Being ganged up on and running just to see the next day. It hurt and she let Derek take the reigns for once in her life. For this one moment, she would let Derek be in complete control.
"It started when Tundra was born. She wasn't a male and her father hated her for it. He wanted a son, an heir to full fill his wishes. He abused his mate, her mother, would never let her forgot how badly she had let him down. When Tundra was only two, her mother died from a rather bad beating the stallion had given him. By then and for two years, Tundra had fallen in love with a seemingly wonderful stallion only to turn and gang up on her with her father at his side." Derek spoke with a soft voice now, his expression sullen as he stared right at Charmant. Never would he let a stallion ever fool Tundra like that again. The emotional abuse was something he didn't want to go through or Tundra twice.
W Smack - January 26, 2008 11:43 PM (GMT)
Charmant had definitely not expected his visit here to end up like this. He had a nagging feeling that maybe he had chased after the wrong mare again? But as he looked at Tundra's devastated face, and the fury on Derek's, he knew that they were being quite serious, and for some reason beyond his understanding - he cared. He was not able to look at either of them when he muttered, "I'm . . . I'm truly sorry. I - I didn't know." He had prided himself throughout his life over being very in control of his feelings and never showing emotion - especially around other mares. But he couldn't help but feel like their disappointment and troubles were part his fault. He turned to Derek, who was the only one who would look at him now. "What can I do to fully appologize? Can't you understand? I don't normally do this sort of thing. I'm really sorry."
Mystery - January 26, 2008 11:52 PM (GMT)
"You don't need to apologize. No apology is going to change the past." Derek said, his voice more calm and serene now. "But if you ever thought once that you actually wanted Tundra then I warn you now, I'll always be watching." He warned with a stern and yet gentle voice. "She's still delicate and not all of the pieces fit back together." The calmness of his voice was startling, he had never sounded this calm before.
I glanced up, done withe teary eyes. Still frowning, I looked at Charmant. When he had said sorry, he actually sounded like he was sorry. I liked that and only a hint of a smile flashed on my pink lips. Sighing, I itched at my knee before glancing at Derek. I felt touched at his warning. I at least knew that someone would always care for me and that would be Derek. Even though I could tell he wasn't going to live for long, he was still my guardian angel that I treasured so much. "Thank you Charmant." I whispered softly letting my eyes drift to the grass.
W Smack - January 27, 2008 12:18 AM (GMT)
Charmant still couldn't bring himself to glance up at either of the two as Derek uttered his warning and as Tundra spoke quietly to him once more. All he could keep stuttering was, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I had no idea. I'm sorry." He wasn't even paying attention to the two before him now. All he could think of was his own troubled past and the heartbreak that he, himself had once indured. Finally, he managed enough sanity to tell them, "I - I just know what it's like. I'm sorry if I've ever hurt you. I never meant . . ." He thought back to all of the mares that he had probably hurt in his life - and just to ebb the aching loneliness that still paluged his restless soul. How many hearts had he, himself broken? How many times had he lied to a mare, just to seduce her? He finally looked up to meet Tundra's gaze and noticed her tear-stained cheeks. How many times had he made another cry?
Mystery - January 27, 2008 06:34 PM (GMT)
"It's not your fault." I snapped getting a bit angry. "You weren't the one to hurt it was others who did and you just happened to bring up a sore spot." My voice was harsh as I hiccuped once. Snorting I lowered my head and looked at the grass. Tail lashing back and forth, my white coat twitched. I didn't want this to happen, it was just how bad my past had been and how much it had hurt me. Sighing, I looked up and looked at Charmant. Shaking my head, I frowned. "It's fine, it was never your fault." I whispered, feeling a bit exhausted.
Derek stood there, speechless. He had never heard Tundra snap like that. Looking at the mare, he frowned and didn't dare move. No doubt this once young filly was a mare now. Hormones and all. Sighing, he gave Charmant a hopeful look and shrug. Finally, he put a paw on Tundra's leg. "Tundra? Are you ok?" He didn't get a look, but all she did was raise her leg and shake him off. Furrowing his brow, he crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.
W Smack - January 27, 2008 06:38 PM (GMT)
Charmant still wasn't sure what to say. He pawed at the ground awkwardly, then a small smile slipped back onto his lips as he said, "What do you say we start over again, then? My name is Charmant." He didn't bow this time, but his smile had changed - it was somewhat sweeter now, and less charming. "I've secured a home, now. What do you say we go and check it out? I promise you don't have to stay if you don't want to." He didn't know what was happening to him. He had never acted this way around mare, but somehow he felt that this one was . . . well, diffferent.
Mystery - January 27, 2008 06:45 PM (GMT)
I smiled softly at his suggestion and nodded. "Hello Charmant, I'm Tundra." Glancing at Derek for a moment, I returned my soft gaze at Charmant. "I would love to accompany you back to your home." I took a shy step forward and let my eyes avert from his to the far distance. What would his home look like? Would I stay with him forever? It wasn't like he had me to be his mate and would he? So many questions and muddled answers flooded my mind. Of course I felt an attraction to the white stallion, but did he feel the same?
Derek grinned at the words said. Charmant had done the right thing and he didn't think that was possibly. Maybe I should start trusting more. He thought in his mind as he saw Tundra's happiness spark again. But what will happen to me when she doesn't need me anymore? That worried thought came to mind and a frown creased his lips. He didn't want to leave his Tundra, she was like a daughter to him. Letting her go would probably mean depression leading to death. He wasn't ready to die now.
W Smack - January 27, 2008 06:50 PM (GMT)
"Great!" he cried, perhaps a bit too excitedly. "Follow me, then! We'll be going to the Aurora Mountains. That's the herd I've been accepted into. It's a beautiful place, and the herd members are nice enough." He skipped forward a few steps and threw his head into the wind. He turned, smiling over his shoulder as he waited for Tundra and her small mate to follow.
((OOC: Race you there! :D))
