A tall, cremello stallion wandered through the dark mountains curiously. "Curious . . ." he muttered to himself. "Is there /any/ life here?" The lands were pretty enough, sure. He could definitely picture himself living here. He scented the winds. There was a stallion and . . . oooh! Mares! Hopefully not all were the stallions, he did want some of his own. He acutally wanted a few, but he knew that this was probably not possible because he was just a commoner.
However, he had been kicked out of many herds because of his flings with the mares. He was sure that if it mattered to him enough, he could steal just /one/ away. And just for a little bit!
"Je ne peux pas attendre pour trouver ces beautés!" he said. "Ils sont sûrs de se laisser prendre à moi vite! Qui peut s'opposer à un Français si élégant ?" He chuckled softly to himself. Now just to convince this alpha that he would be an asset to the herd . . .

Translation:
1. I can't wait to find these beauties!
2. They're sure to fall for me quickly! Who can resist such a handsome Frenchman?

My step was jaunty, cranium and banner held sky-high as I sauntered across the rocky steps of the land that I had come to call my own. I had a son now, and even though he didn't seem to have the makings of a leader, he was wonderful. Both my alphess and one of my ladies had returned. I was satisfied for the moment, until a scent not unlike my own wafted to my outstretched smoky nares. Stallion.

A deep rumbling growl shook through my bod as I smelled him. Probably older than my five years, though not by much. And he was draped with the scent of multiple mares, too. Ugh. A ladies' man. Enjoyable, eh? Just when you're fine with your little herd, some brute comes along, intent on stealing them all away. Orbs narrowed to the point of their sea-green hue being nearly invisible, I loped up to the snowy stag.

"I am Poseidon, lord and ruler of these Aurora Mountains," I said, emphasis on the words lord and ruler. "I welcome no challengers, nor those who wish to take what is mine. What is your purpose here, and your calling, newcomer?" I, for one, didn't trust him. Mares were fine, I had no problems with them, they didn't care about taking over. But gus like this one....I hated them. Maybe it was from my father being homicidal, I didn't know. But I was untrusting of this one, and I was not going to let him take away what I had ear

"Ah, bonjour mon bon monsieur!" he said, smiling jauntily. "And how are you on this fine day?" He was a bit put off by this stallion's unwelcoming ways, but he continued. "It's all good, kind sir, you don't have to get all defensive with me." He looked the stallion up and down one time. He could definitely take on this new "Posiedon", but he wasn't going to. That wasn't his purpose here . . . for now, at least. He constricted his head to his chest and bowed down until he was level with the short stallion's knees. "My name is Charmant," he announced gallantly. He returned to his full height and added, "You know, I'm not here to challenge you. I just want a home . . ." he blinked at the stallion innocently and hung his head a bit. "Is that alright by you, good sir? Or are you going to shun a poor, wandering, home-less stallion like myself?"

/Ummm, he's about 17 hands, but it's fine./

Auds pricked with his treatment of me. Sucking up, was what it was. But I liked it. Made me feel good. I sighed and finally lightened up. "Fine. You can be a member of the herd. However, there are a few rules you need to know." There hadn't been another stallion there since I claimed the Auroras, and I wasn't sure how to deal with them. "One: no flirting with my mares. I have two there, and I'm not in the mood to share, unless one of them asks me. If you want a mate, go find your own. Two: no commanding the other horses there, especially my son. You're a commoner, and will be, until I see fit to change your rank. Basically, don't get into any trouble. And seeing as I don't know it, and I'm not sure if anyone else does, you probably would be better off not speaking in your tongue when having a conversation with us. The herd's this way." I rose up, pivoted, and loped away. I didn't really care if he didn't come right away; I hadn't wanted another brute in my lands for a while. I was just too kind to turn him away.

((OOC: Sorry, I just figured Arabian . . . small . . .
My bad! :D ))

Charmant was a bit put off by all of these strict rules. Why was he being so harsh anyway? Well Charmant would have to learn to behave himself . . . at least for a while, until he earned this stallion's trust. "Yes, sir!" he said in an almost mocking tone. "Lead the way!"
