Title: Seeing Spots
Description: No, you're not going crazy
W Smack - January 3, 2008 03:18 PM (GMT)

A small, white stallion wandered into the lands. He raised his nose to the air and scented the wind. This was definitely a strange land, but he was used to strange. His hide blended in well enough with the terrain, but his black spots stood out as a bit odd, still. He liked it, though. He had always liked the cold. However, it was still desolate, and he wondered if anyone even lived here. Well, he would wait . . .
((OCC: Is this place even active? :blink: ))

ooc; Yes, I was just working on getting Victoire here. :D But if your charrie doesn't speak French or German, we're going to have a bit of a problem.
bic;
I wandered around my barren land, just waiting for her to arrive. My ears shifted as I stopped. I could hear steps coming toward me, but not close enough to see. I turned my head to glance in the near distance, black spots. I stood there, confused. Trotting my way over, I noticed it was a black and white spotted horse as I came closer. Smiling quietly, I could scent that it was a stallion and he didn't seem all that threatening. Stopping before the male, I let my ears lay flat. My buckskin colored coat let shivers roll down my back.
« Bonjour monsieur, je suis Justin. Le roi de Glacier de Congère. Qui pourriez-vous être » ? My voice was stern and yet welcoming. I did not know if he spoke German or French, French was more common. Nodding my head lightly, I stared at him, looking him over to make sure he didn't want a fight. I was not going to fight for this land, I was going to keep it. I waited for the stallion's answer, whether it be a name or I cannot understand, it was still a reply.
TRANSLATIONS:
1. « Bonjour monsieur, je suis Justin. Le roi de Glacier de Congère. Qui pourriez-vous être » ?
- "Hello sir, I am Justin. King of Snowdrift Glacier. Who might you be?" [french]

((OOC: There is definitely a problem, then . . . :blink: ))
The stallion appeared out of nowhere and Finn turned in surprise as the stallion spoke to him. "Um, hello," he muttered. He was a bit confused . . . he had no idea what the other stallion was saying. "Uh, my name is Finn," he said slowly. "And I'm here to join the herd." He heard one English word in there - Justin - so he figured that that was the alpha's name.

« Le plaisir pour vous rencontrer Finlandais. Vous êtes bienvenu à rester si vous pouvez contrôler le froid ». Justin said, a smile teasing at his lips. He was going to say that to almost everyone. Most wouldn't be able to handle the snow or the cold. Most days it was below freezing and nights it could be unbearable. But living here for a while, you'd get used to it. Never wanting to see warmth again. Finn had said the right things for Justin to just barely understand him.
TRANSLATIONS:
1. « Le plaisir pour vous rencontrer Finlandais. Vous êtes bienvenu à rester si vous pouvez contrôler le froid ».
- "Pleasure to meet you Finn. You're welcome to stay if you can handle the cold." [french]

Finn nodded stupidly, still not knowing what the stallion was saying. He had herd French maybe five times in his life, and each time there was a translator near by to help him understand what was going on. He thought he heard the word "cold", and he could definitely understand that. "It is quite cold here," he murmured to himself.
((OOC: Maybe I should just pretend that he can speak German? He does come from a Dutch breed . . . What about Victoire? Can she translate?))

ooc; If you want. He does also speak German, if that would help. SD isn't really on enough to translate this much. Or I'd suggest it. D:
bic;
„Sprechen ach, Sie Deutsch“? I asked, completely forgetting that he might be able to. He looked at Finn, interestedly. Figuring that he might, he also understood cold. Only a few English words he could understand, but never speak it. „Ach klar, ist es kalt. Den meisten Tage es steht unten frierend“. I commented, a mischievous smile on my charred lips. Tail flicking back and forth as ice started to form on the tips of my mane and tail.
TRANSLATIONS:
1. „Sprechen ach, Sie Deutsch“?
- "Oh, do you speak German?"
2. „Ach klar, ist es kalt. Den meisten Tage es steht unten frierend“.
- "Oh yeah, it is cold. Most days it stands below freezing."

((OOC: I wouldn't be able to speak in German to you, but if you keep writing the translations, then I could pretend that Finn understands you! :P ))
"Not very fluently," Finn replied, finally understanding what Justin was saying. He shivered and asked, "Freezing? Every day? Well, I suppose I'll get used to it." He looked around the empty lands. "So, is there anyone else in this herd?" he asked.

ooc; THat'll be fine. It just helps me understand who he is better if I do the actual german. All I use is a translator.
bic;
„Das ist fein“. I said with a slightly nod. I smiled at he looked around. „Ja alltäglich friert und viele Schneestürze“. Shifting my weight, I shook out my body so my limbs would keep warm. Standing still for a while could actually hurt me. Looking around myself and then back Finn, I nodded. „Es gibt ein anderes, Victoire. Ich weiß nicht, wenn sie hier noch ist, aber als ich sie getroffen habe, wurde sie wirklich aufgeregt, in einem schneereichen Ort zu sein“. There was a warm and pleasant look about my face, ears flicking back. I was still wondering where she was.
TRANSLATIONS:
1. „Das ist fein“.
- "That is fine."
2. „Ja alltäglich friert und viele Schneestürze“.
- "Yes, everyday is freezing and lots of snow falls."
3. „Es gibt ein anderes, Victoire. Ich weiß nicht, wenn sie hier noch ist, aber als ich sie getroffen habe, wurde sie wirklich aufgeregt, in einem schneereichen Ort zu sein“.
- "There is one other, Victoire. I don't know if she is here yet, but when I met her, she was really excited to be in a snowy place."

Finn nodded in understanding. "It must be nice to have a mate," he muttered. Since he had just become a stallion, he found that all he could think of lately was mares. He wanted one of his own, but would he ever find her? "Well, let's get going before we both freeze to death," Finn suggested, smiling.

ooc; I don't want to reply... You can just take him to the herd if you want. I'll reply there. I have no muse! :(
