No matter what gender you character is, once they join or claim a herd, or become claimed by another, there is no wandering around. The only lands that horses that belong to a herd or such are allowed to really wander to is to the common grounds, willow grove or the freedom meadow.

Stallions
1. Colts mature to stallions at age four
2. Colts cannot claim mares or fillies
3. Colts cannot breed successfully, stallions can
4. Stallions claim mares by nipping.
5. Alpha Stallions may have as many mares as they wish, but don't hog them all.
6. Stallions of low ranking may only have 1 mare.
7. If the Alpha gives permission, some stallions may have up to three mares.
8. Stallions claim lands by either challenging, or being first to step onto the land.
9. Alphas must find an Alphess at some point in time
10. Alphas cannot challenge foals
11. Alphas have the right to chase out any member or intruder at any time
12. Alphas can resign if they wish.

Mares
1. Fillies become mares at age four
2. Mares may challenge other mares or stallions
3. Mares can claim a land, but after all the lands are claimed, mares will no longer be able to claim or challenge for lands.
4. They cannot be claimed by more than one stallion at a time.
5. If you are claimed by a stallion, you may not leave unless you are going to the foaling grounds or trying to escape.
