It was finally time for the birth of my first foal with Santico, but my second foal overall. I wobbled into the Foaling Field, so ready to get this foal out of me. Contractions started to get closer. I winced at the pain that was increasing. I let myself gently fall to the ground.
It was not the best day to be giving birth. It was raining slightly and might get worse. The ground was already wet from an earlier rain. I was also not in a very good mood at the moment and wished this foal would give me a couple more days, but I don't think that was going to happen. I began to push, wanting this to be quick and easy. Where was Santico?
I started to feel the head of the foal coming out. I gave another hard push. I looked over at the foal that was laying on the ground. I smiled and started to clean the black filly. I wanted a colt, but a filly was ok with me. But was it ok with Santico that he did not yet have an heir. Then all of the sudden another large pain came back. I was not done.
I began to push again and in a few minutes their was another foal laying beside the first one. I could not believe it. I had twins. I really hoped there was not another one in there! I started to clean the dapple grey filly, who did not seem as active as the other one. She was just laying there, not moving. The foal let out a breath and I sighed. I had twin fillies!
Where was Santico?

Brute snorted and huffed, breaths coming out ragged and harsh. Daggers pounded the ground, sweat saturated his grey hide. Legs moved like lightening, stretching out and then contracting, barely touching the earth. His foal was coming. He reached the birthing lands, then stopped and turned and snorted, eyes darting around, searching for a black body. He saw not one, but 3. Santico rushed over. His mare was cleaning off a black filly, not moving but for her chest heaving with her first breaths. The other black one was looking around, licking her lips, wide eyes flecked with purple. Santico smiled. He was blessed. Though he wanted a colt, twin fillies was nearly as good. He gazed down at Star, question and concern in his eyes. He bent his high crested neck downward and lipped Star behind her delicate, sculptured ear. You have done well, my sweet.
ooc;; all grey horses start out black, so sorry if there was any confusion in my post about 2 black foals.

I sighed in relief as Santico finally arrived. I finished cleaning off both foals then looked up at him, wishing he had been here earlier. Finally the second filly moved a bit, showing life. "I've decided," I said. "to name the second foal, the smaller, less active one...Adelina." I looked at the foal then back at Santico, wanting to hear his opinion on that name and what his idea for the other foal would be. I was actually glad to have these two fillies. I was now the mother to three daughters and proud of it.

The name echoed in his head as he thought about it. Adelina, Adelina... The brute gazed at the foal, laying meek and feeble on the soft earth. Yes, Adelina suits her well. He looked at the other foal, already up and attempting to walk to her mothers teats. Isabel. A fine ,proud, strong Spanish name. If that is okay... He walked over towards her and gave her a gentle nudge, which toppled her over. She cocked her head and gazed at him in confusion. He chuckled. Sorry, little one. He turned to Star. I must be off now. Bring them back to Deathtrap Riverbed when you are ready. And with that, he broke into an easy lope and disappeared behind the hill.
ooc;; sorry for the totally crappy post!!

"Isobel is nice," I said as I watched Santico leave me with the two foals. What did he have to do? There was no other mares in his harem. Or was he going to go find more mares? Who knew. I watched as Isobel was trying to stand up, and Adelina still on the ground. I could tell she was the more fragil one that needed to be watched over the most. I smiled at the two little fillies.
