Having reached Willow Grove, the brute turned and looked at Star. Don't worry, I'll play nice. He didn't want her to be in pain, but rather enjoy the experience and possibly look forward to it again. Just tell me when you're ready.

I followed the brute here, knowing I'd be bred one way or another, so I was just going to cooperate. I came to a halt and nodded, telling him that I was ready. This would be my second foal if it was successful. I really didn't want to have another foal, but I had to.

The brute started moving in circles around her elegant bod, weaving in and out in an intricate dance. His breath came heavy as he curled his whipcord around her rump, then glided over to her head and whispered. This won't take long. Then he trotted around to her rump and mounted. Santico leaned down and gave a small tug on her tresses. He then lingered for a moment before dismounting. Brute moved to her head once more and gave it a small lick. Now that wasn't so bad, was it?

I grunted as he dismounted me. Why did this have to happen? All I was looking for was a home, and now I had to breed. It wasn't that bad, but I didn't really want to do it. "That's not bad," I said. "What comes out of it will be." It was the truth. The actual breeding wasn't that bad, but foaling was.

He turned to her with cold eyes. Mockery and sarcasm dripped potently from his words. Well then toughen up. He turned abruptly and his tail whipped about and hit her jaw. He had no time for complaints. The brute began to wonder if he had chosen correctly. He needed a tough mare who would bear him heirs. But if she wouldn't do, then she could remain a lady and he would find another to be his queen. If she expected to get what she wanted, then she should just change alliances. He was lost in thoughts as he made his way back home, not thinking about where he was going but just going. He did not even bother to see if the mare was following. He figured she would, seeing as she had no home. But if she didn't, he would have to turn aaround and go find her. And he would not be happy about that.

I sighed and started to follow the stallion. Maybe this wasn't that bad. Maybe I just had to get used to be around another stallion. Ever since the break up of the once powerful horse couple, Desert Shade and I, I just hadn't been the same. He was the father of my only foal, Rose Bud. Too bad she had to turn Light. I could get used to this stallion with some time. I sped up to where I was right next to Santico. Maybe this wasn't too bad.
